  1. I can vaguely remember Louisville being hit with an early snowstorm in the mid 1960s. Games were postponed but eventually played. I believe that is how the Valley-PRP game became known as the Snowman game. I may not be exactly right on the details. I’m sure someone knows the story.
  2. I don't mean to overlook any opponent especially in the playoffs, but if there is a second X-Trinity game, any idea if it will it be played at Cardinal Stadium or will it be on campus?
  3. I thought I would revive this thread and see if there are any new stories since it’s 2 years old.
  4. Next week’s St X - Manual game will be a snot-knocker. St X better be mentally & physically. I don’t believe they will face a better or stronger RB than Northington all year.
  5. A lot of people are underestimating the impact Coach Beatty’s retirement is having on this season. Trinity is Trinity but replacing a legendary coach is not easy. You just don’t put on the green & white every year and expect the same results especially when there is a head coaching change. This year is a small bump in the road but the future looks good.
  6. The Manual - StX game in 2 weeks may be the most physical game of the year. Neither team does anything fancy.
  7. In high school, when a team is in a “victory” formation and the QB takes the snap, takes a few steps backwards before he takes a knee, is the lost yardage taken away from the QB’s rushing yardage or is it noted as a “Team” stat for the lost yardage? Just curious.
  8. I saw Ballard play one time in 2020 and thought their punter took a long deliberate time getting his kick off. If it’s the same punter it’s not surprising to me that he had 2 blocked.
  9. He played. #11. Made a big TFL in 4th quarter.
  10. I’ve often wondered what the objective is for JV games. Is it to win the game or is it simply to get younger players valuable game experience? Some schools play a lot of juniors on the JV so obviously they want to win the game. Other schools have “Froshmore” teams who want to get their younger players as many reps before they get to the varsity level. I suppose there isn’t a right answer; it’s the varsity HC’s personal preference on what he is trying to accomplish.
  11. We’ll see about Ryle in 2 weeks when they play STX at Ryle.
  12. Hard to evaluate out of state teams vs KY teams, especially in Jeff Co. That being said, I will say this is a 3 point game. One play here & there will make the difference. STX QB will be the one player Elder can't account for. STX 24-21
  13. I don't think this is the kind of Trinity team that everyone is familiar with. Very young on both sides of the ball. Other than the SR running back this is the slowest Trinity team in the last 25 years, especially on defense. People don't realize the impact of Beaty not being on the sideline has on this young team. Male has too much speed and size at WR going against the young Trinity DBs. I'll take Male 42-17.
  14. The JV QB throws a nice ball but holds on to it a little too long. Not nearly the running threat as Sivori so that will require a change in their offense. Coach Wallace has more success when his QB is a threat to run, something he hasn't had at STX until this year with a healthy Sivori.
  15. I was at STX for a soccer game yesterday and saw the 2nd half of the JV game. Is the JV QB projected to be the starter next year?
  16. In 2008 there was a wind storm that knocked out power in the city for about a week. A lot of games had to be cancelled. IIRC Trinity moved their game with Cincinnati STX from their home field to Cardinal Stadium.
  17. The size and speed of the Male WRs will be a problem for the young inexperienced STX CBs. STX will keep it close but the athletes Male has will be the difference. Male 35-24.
  18. South Oldham has scheduled Franklin Co for Friday night at SO
  19. I wouldn’t be surprised if Wolfe leaves Male. He’s been pretty outspoken against on how JCPS is handling COVD.
  20. If a school wants to play STX, this would be the year to do it. The next 2 seasons X will be a force in the state.
  21. The playoffs will be a cluster. No one will know from week to week who, if anyone, is playing. Having a 5 week playoff under these conditions is ridiculous.
  22. I know he’s at STX and probably wouldn’t leave there but Kevin Wallace would be a perfect fit for Etown. That is the type of program he would thrive in. But I hope he stays at STX.
  23. The headline on the scores referenced ‘93. They were talking about 1893!!! Geez. I was thinking 1993!
