Tigers packed up their defense and took it on the road to Ryle for close win. I was impressed with Ryle's defense since they are fast and play hard. I think Ryle is a team to watch come November.

It was such a perfect night for football. A hard hitting slugfest played with great passion by both teams. Ryle’s sophomore QB, Logan Verax, took some shots but displayed good escapability and toughness. I fully support TigerPride94 ratings that called for a 10-point win by the Xavierians. So much fun to visit with him. I’m proud of the Raiders and believe they can build off this loss. X was far superior to anyone else we have played.

Best laugh of the night happened near the end with an X fan bemoaning an ugly win in more colorful words. Lol!  For the record, an ugly victory is better than a moral one! Congrats to X on a hard-fought win.

Definitely a moral victory for the Raiders.

Congrats X!

No moral victory's, they feel like they let one go. Ryle dropped 4, maybe 5 int's... 1 on each of X's scoring drives.  Too many offensive penalties put them behind the sticks inopportune times killing drives.   But hats off to X, they are a really good team.

I am still going with moral victory but if I was a part of the Great Raider Machine I would push the same narrative.

I've never been to a game with so many false starts by both teams. Those refs had to have motion detectors or something. Lol.

Ryle's QB was like Houdini with the way he escapes sacks. Several times it looked like he would get sacked and was able to escape with his legs. He's only a sophomore and will only get better.

I assume if Coach Wallace was injected with truth cerium he would tell you his team was "feeling themselves" a bit after their win the previous week and his players were overlooking Ryle. Defense came ready to play. Late in the game it looks like they should have scored a TD on a Ryle fumble but believe the officials either called him down or that it wasn't a lateral. The Tiger secondary did a good job getting pass break ups and the front seven was making life for the Ryle QB very difficult. Probably the defense many were expecting from the Tigers all season. The offense struggled. Couldn't consistently run the ball and a number of drives stalled with the inability convert 3rd and short. Sivori doesn't have to be Tom Brady and rack up huge passing stats, but they have to be able to hit check downs and work shallow routes better. Overall, a win on the road against a quality opponent is what you want. I bet Coach Wallace and staff has their player's attention and will see a better overall team performance next week.

An ugly win is better than a good loss.

Next week’s St X - Manual game will be a snot-knocker. St X better be mentally & physically.  I don’t believe they will face a better or stronger RB than Northington all year.
