  1. I agree E-town has had a couple good seasons and I know there coach who is a great guy and they have a lot of talent coming back (and notice in my post I put about every year)but until E-town gets over the hump I just don't put them with the teams previously mentioned at this point as a yearly championship contender. There road to the semi final game is not nearly as difficult as Boyle,Catholic, or Central, which I feel hurts them going in to that semi- final game at times.
  2. Great win against a good team. Johnson played the best I have seen him play. Trinity will be a tough out come tournament time.
  3. Going back to a previous post I think it will always come down to central,Boyle, and Catholic and belfry and Corbin. I think we can debate all we want but the state championship will come from one of those school about every year. I would give a slight edge to Boyle on that side of the bracket because of all the young talent. I did read earlier this week Boyle has a freshman lineman along with Tisdale heading to the North/South game and the US Army game coming up. Those are the only kids I saw on the roster from Ky. Belfry also has a loaded soon to be sophomore class so the way I see it until someone beats Belfry they are the front runner for another title.
  4. I've seen Danville and Cal in person.Cal wins the game easily by 3 or 4 scores. Cal beat a good Central team earlier 44-14. Just to much size and too much depth for Danville to contend with. That was a very good Mayfield team they beat easily last week.
  5. I'm not a fan of either team but Danville will beat HC by at least 2 touchdowns. Danville has two much speed and one of the top Qb in the state. HC has not seen 4.3 speed all year like van cleave has. Dh
  6. Boyle will match up in the skilled position with Central and there speed. I believe your correct when you compare Centrals dline with the offensive line of Boyle. I've watched both central and Boyle several times in person.Central has a big athletic line on both sides of the ball and are well coached. I believe Boyle will have a difficult time scoring and Boyle will have a hard time with Centrals run game behind the big guys. I'm going Central 21-7. In my mind Corbin and Central are 2a&2b behind Belfry in the class.
  7. I understand what your saying Mr Lambert but both teams know every play the other is running unless something new was put in the week of. It comes down to execution and decision making from both your coordinator and your qb's on being able to read the defense while under pressure. It was good for both qb's to play in a game like that to see how fast good corners and safeties close. Ive watched numerous teams play this year and Catholics secondary is fast, well coached, and just didn't make mistakes in coverage I would like to see the opportunity given to the other freshman qb to get some reps as Boyle moves forward.l I've heard he is very athletic and can run and throw but is new to the system Having the ability to run at the qb position really helps against a team like Catholic. I coached many years and know, especially at the High school level it changes your offense. Rest assured moving forward future opponents watching film will put 8 or 9 in the box to stop the run and bring pressure. That's why I refer to the QB having the ability to run. Boyle will have to be able to throw the ball some in order to win in the playoffs. In saying that,in my opinion it is still Tillers job and he will learn from his experience Friday night and get better. Don't worry Boyle fans your in good hands with Chuck Smith. I'm sure he didn't show all his cards against Catholic and like wise with Catholic. You may not agree but just my opinion which doesn't count for much anymore mr lambert. lol.
  8. I went to the game last night and I'm not a Catholic fan but to expect a different result in a rematch didn't watch what happened up front. Catholic dominated the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball and are a better football team right now. Boyle can't change being overmatched on the line that's a personel problem. Boyle looks to have issues at qb,with 5 or 6 interceptions it's hard to beat anybody. Both qb struggled with Catholics speed in the secondary. On the other hand Boyle gets to see 3 more years of the freshman qb Catholic played. Just a disappointing night for Boyle they got beat in every aspect of the game.
  9. I agree Bartleson changes the look in the backfield-and helps the offense tremendously . Bartleson and Smith are different type athletes than everyone else. Chuck Smith has also started playing the freshman Kelly on the d-line regularly which changes the entire defensive front when you have Kelly and Paycheck, those two dominated the defensive front when they were in together last night. Smith continues to make tweeks as the season continues, this Friday in my mind will be a good measuring stick to gauge the progress. In my opinion Catholic will be the second best team Boyle has played.
  10. Trinity 42-21. Trinity is just in a different class than everyone else. Of course I could be bias since I have a family member on the team!
  11. It looks like Trinity is going to run away with things this year and on to Bowlng Green.PRP I watched a couple of weeks ago and I agree a well coached team that can make some noise.
  12. I listened to the game last night and it sounded like subs were being ran in to the final buzzer. You can't ask those kids not to play. It may be there only chance the rest of the year to get on a varsity field. I was excited to here that Bartleson scored,Hardwick recovered a fumble on special teams and Kelly was named defensive player of game by radio. All Freshman. It looks like Smith is starting to work his magic with this team.
  13. Danville dominated the game and to say Boyle is young is not true. They play mostly juniors and 7 or 8 seniors. They had a couple of freshman play in the secondary and a few sophomores. Boyle is just not very good especially both lines. Give Danville they are really good.
  14. I wouldn't be surprised to see some new faces on the field for Boyle this week against the Ads which could change some things. Boyle from what I hear possibly this week or shortly there after Boyle will become a different looking team personnel wise especially if Boyle takes a loss this week. Win or lose this week, by mid season Boyle could become dangerous. They are freshman who would get the call but I have heard from others, the coaches think there may be possibly 9 or 10 future college football players in the freshman class and possibly 3 or 4 division 1 players within that group. With that being said, at this point in the season I feel Danville will win this one. If it's mid October- Boyle wins this game by a couple of scores.
  15. I'm going Danville 34-14. I still believe with Boyle's offensive woes and losing the only real downfield threat Boyle had in Smith just not enough offense to win this one. I feel Boyle will struggle this year to be above 500 unless the young kids are ready to go later in the season. With Danville,Anderson,Catholic,Collins,Dunbar still on the schedule, those games are all winnable but serves to be challenge.
  16. My grandson plays with Trinity and they were very excited with a win I believe Trinity can make a deep run if everyone stays healthy.
  17. I don't know about Dampier being the best in the State but he is a high caliber Qb. The thing I think about that is would we all, including myself say he was the best if he was at a Lafayette, Trinity,Male, or Bowling Green. Aside from that Danville has weapons with speed. A lot of kids on this team that come from some Danville football greats. Good test for the Ads next week.
  18. I agree with Rebel,Boyle will take some lumps this year. North 6A or not,was a very average team at best and the weakest team Boyle will play in the next few weeks. The offensive line has to get better for Boyle to be able to score. Boyle just had a lot of penalties on false starts and got pushed around up front on offense and North didn't have much size The freshman nose guard North had was in the backfield all night. On a positive note Tiller and Ashburn looked solid along with Smith. Not that it matters against Lafayette but I could see Smith making a lot of changes before too long, with personnel and playing both ways.
  19. I rode over and watched Boyle for the first time since last year and if Boyle can find some offense they will be fine. I heard like mentioned above that Crawford looked like he could have earned getting some carries in the backfield. The offensive line also struggled with the exception of Bramel. I agree with the earlier comment the 2 freshman looked great. Smith is the most athletic kid I've seen at Boyle in a long time. Paycheck is strong on the def line along with the freshman Kelley. Those 2 up front on D line would be nice and they both have size but the freshman is huge and takes a lot of space in the middle. I wouldn't be surprised to see changes in the line up after a poor performance in the scrimmage before next Saturday night. Like some said earlier it will be tough early with the schedule but Smith will have them ready by playoffs.
  20. I feel Mercer will be dangerous and will be able to compete every Friday night. It won't take long to find out by playing a tough first game!!
  21. Mayfield will definitely be a tough out come playoffs with that senior class. Unless they just have one of those nights and it won't be easy, but look for Mayfield to bring home a state title.
  22. I feel they may struggle early but like you said will be fine by the end of the year. I heard Smith is only letting 3 freshman practice varsity at this point but Smith and Bartleson will help with the skilled positions by mid season after they adjust and I have heard Kelly will possibly play right away on already a pretty good line.
  23. Did anyone get a chance to see 7 on 7 last week. I heard some talk that it Boyle really had a lot to work on, which I guess would be expected. I believe Tiller and Walker both played Qb. I was told and they both looked ok. I also heard the JV looked like they needed a lot of work also. Did anyone actual witness 7 on 7 to confirm any of this.
  24. Any updates on the QB situation? I didn't know if Tiller had recovered from his injury and is participating in June workouts. I heard the same thing as the previous post mentioned Walker is the front runner for the QB position. I did hear the transfer that's a freshman Hotchkis has been impressive so far and has great speed and a good arm.
  25. I had forgotten about most of those freshman playing football and possibly getting them behind in learning a new system, but come January this BC team could surprise some folks. I still believe a late season line up of Sloan,Smith, Alexander,Bramel and Kelly would be dangerous with the Bartleson and Jackson kid gives you a solid squad that could sneak up on some folks. Those 3 guards can play with anybody.
