What does Mercer County need to do to improve in 2016? What do they need to keep doing to be successful? Remember, please be constructive.

I think a year under Coach Buchannon will really show on the field. The work ethic at Mercer seems totally different than it was 2 years ago.

 

Adding Gunner Gillis at QB should also help them keep this thing headed in the right direction!

 

IMO, they are a top 20 team in 4a, maybe even better than that, by seasons end.

 

Can't wait to see this Titan team in action!

We will see what they got in week 0 vs Central Hardin. They need to be much improved to compete in this one.

Man, I'm slipping. Someone can correct me if I am wrong but I've been told Tanner Robins is playing football his senior year. If this is the case then there will be a lot of fun times in Harrodsburg this fall.

To address your posts/questions....

 

Tanner Robins is playing and we are excited to have him. He is a fast/talented athlete and outstanding young man as well. We do have one injury issue but it should be resolved by the time the season starts. I don't like commenting too much on injuries.

Our kids have been working hard and without a doubt we must be a vastly improved football team when we play Central Hardin. We know they are very good.

 

I am crazy about our kids and staff and I like the direction we are going. We are more than aware that we have a lot to work on. But, the way the 2015 team ended the season will go a long way in helping us build our program. That team was outstanding in the way they kept the wheels on through 0-5 and continuing to fight for each other. I will always be thankful for and appreciate the 2015 team and those seniors.

I can see Mercer playing the day after Thanksgiving. With Tanner playing, they will have athletes all over the field. I wonder if Trevon Faulkner will come out and play.

Last time he played varsity football he played WR. I don't think he would see a position change if he came back out. Especially with Gillis on the team.

My memories of him at QB go back to his youth football days. I never saw his group in middle school or as freshman. You are probably right

I feel Mercer will be dangerous and will be able to compete every Friday night. It won't take long to find out by playing a tough first game!!
