I talked to a few members of the team the other night and I don't remember this much excitement since the run to state 10 years ago!

 

I have gotten my season sports pass and plan on using it up on Friday nights this fall! GO TITANS!!

This may be common knowledge but I've missed it if it is....

 

Will Mercer county varsity football be playing on the new Alvis Johnson field or, as I was told by my sophomore daughter, will they continue to play adjacent to their sports complex at what is now King Middle?

The new field is beautiful and,if I'm not mistaken, has new bleachers, concession stand and bathrooms. If they are continuing to lace them up at King, I'm curious as to why.

 

Call me old fashion, but I think it would be pretty cool to play at AJ. What are the thoughts of others in the community?

I was thinking they begin play at the Alvis Johnson field this fall. I'll go find out real quick.

 

I love the games being at Alvis Johnson field. That place has a really good atmosphere for Friday Night Lights.

We play at Alvis Johnson this year. It looks great!

Side note- I have taken in 4 games coached BY Coached D.B. and in those game his team is 4-0. Might have to start charging a good luck fee. (LOL)

I don't have a street address but I'll be at both games. I'll be looking for you. I'd say someone on here will have the address for you before too long.

I think a street address may be hard to come by

 

 

If you turn on to US68 from the Harrodsburg (us127) bypass, the stadium will be a mile or two toward town, on the right. I think the parking will be the street before you get to the old school entrance/stadium.

@ChiefSmoke will, I'm sure, have some better details, but that's what I have.

This is actually the Board of Education address, however, it's on the same campus as Alvis Johnson Field.....parking, etc.

Well, I was originally planning on attending the Roy Kidd Bowl, but kept thinking about this one. Knowing it's not at the old stadium makes this one a much tougher decisions. May head here instead.

 

Already planning on the Death Valley Bowl the night before, so it's a very short drive no matter which Saturday option I choose.

I can see Mercer playing the day after Thanksgiving. With Tanner playing, they will have athletes all over the field. I wonder if Trevon Faulkner will come out and play.

Unfortunately one team's gain is another team's loss. Mason County is going in the opposite direction. Team excitement is going down fast for both the fans and the players. Mercer definitely got the best end of the deal.
