HHS plays Lexington Catholic Jan 13th at Memorial Coliseum at 2 pm.

Last time I checked no. As a matter of fact they did some painting and resealed the floor there this summer.

Time for some 10th region history..... Mason County has been in 16 of the last 26. Since the merger of Mason County and Maysville (1991-92 school year) Mason County has been in the championship game 10 times. In three of those years Mason County went on to play in the championship game of the state tournament. So clearly the best team in the region. There has been at least one other school that has dominated tournament play the same way. Maysville High School was in the region championship 14 of 28 years during one stretch. This was at a time when the region was rotated before the Fieldhouse was built and then after the region has been held at the Fieldhouse. The last year that the tournament was not held at the Fieldhouse, 1969, the host Clark County Cardinals, beat Mason County in the finals. A rematch and same result as the year prior that the tournament was held at Mason County.

It was never used as a swimming pool. It looked like one but only water in that gym was on the sidelines. We used to call it the bull ring because of the lay out of the stands where you were below the bleachers.

Although Mason has not seen a lot of success against Russell I am glad they are back in the same district. It is always exciting when these two get together. That's a good looking schedule for the Devils.

According to MapQuest Winchester is 60.5 miles to Mason County and Calvary Christian is 57 miles from Mason County. That is not to the county line but to the Fieldhouse.

Is there any info on why they had to take it up? It looked realy nice early in the school year. It is first class facility from the locker rooms to the concession stands.

Yeah me too Radioboy74. :lol: Dickie catches a lot of flack but he really is one of the best in the biz. Listen to him call a game and count how many times you hear him make a mistake. It won't be many I can tell you that. It must be a radio thing but I will listen for a PBP or color guy contradict him self. This rarely happens with Dickie.

Just food for thought. I got to tour the new Montgomery County gym during the Recreation Bowl in August. And no it does not hold as many as the Fieldhouse but it is a REALLY nice facility.

Nice win by the Royals. Yeah sure every phase of the game plan is not clicking the way all would like but standing at 4-1 you can not be unhappy about the way Mason is playing. Frankfort is a VERY good football team. So a win is a win is a win. Many coaches have said it before and I will repeat it, "An ugly win beats a pretty loss anyday." And this one was not ugly just some things did not go as planned but Mason made the big play at the end. Great to meet pigman Friday night also. Keep plugging along Panthers as I am sure that you will continue to improve and make a playoff run. Good luck the rest of the way.

You are correct 5wide. The final was 48-6 in that one. Programs like Breathitt are not on that end of the score very many times.

Mason County's games are on WFTM Soft 96. We also have a coach's show on Monday nights at 6:15

Anyone know what the final was? I did not get to go last night but it sounds like there is still much to be done. The QB situation will improve and become more consistent. The biggest concern that I have is the line and it sounds like it was a a HUGE problem last night. Both sides of the ball are going to have to improve for Mason to have sucess.
