What’s the cost of recharging this amazing vehicle?

As a NewCath alum and ex-bench warmer this has me as jealous as one can get. How many years has brossart had a football team? And now they’re already building a sports complex. The leadership before and while I was in school had the (in my opinion) well deserved reputation of being dinosaurs, refusing to adjust with the times. While driving on the bus through Newport for the Bell game was fun having the locals yell at you, it would be so awesome to have your own place. Hope it turns out as nice as the drawings look

Have to love high school sports. Two teams and one hundred point of views. So who is telling the truth?

Been along season so forgive me if I’m wrong. Didn’t CAL lose to NewCath this season? If so how far along have they progressed since that loss?

Highland boys still with a sore spot. I don’t have a dog In either team and I know what BFfitz meant. I grew up in the 90s and listened to this one on the radio and watched the replay on ICN6. It was a more intense rival then than now. Both teams had a true hatred for each other and he was just saying that hit Summed it up

Best in school history is one thing. To say best in NKY history may be a reach. The Lorenzen teams would have an extremely good argument. They beat a lot of teams with their starters in street cloths in the second half pre running clock. Not saying Eddie couldn’t do the same. Always tough to compare eras.

Maybe the teams are earning the penalties?

Coach Terry Brown knows what he’s doing. I believe Ky Joe will back me up here. Terry Brown was Bred to be a football coach

Kyle Kelly was my sons “Big Brother” when Kyle was an 8th grader and my son son was a 1st. I told his mother how impressionable little kids are. My son is asking for play by play updates for Kyle

Also the smaller schools have a hard time justifying the extra pay for extra officials. Ive talked to plenty of coaches who would love 7 man crews but the schools wont pay.

I am by no means a Brossart supporter. It I have to admit it's pretty cool seeing the team walk to the field from the high school instead of getting on a bus. Now if like Ky Joe said could happen the players would be ready to run through a wall without a pregame speech

I'm old school and played in the end of the 4 class system. Where I played is always a contender and has been since the early 2000s. If we were to do the top two teams from each district only, my team would've missed the playoffs 2 out 3 of my varsity years. I originally thought the 6 class system would give the really small schools hope of fielding competitive teams. Over the past 12 seasons or so it has proven me wrong. Even with the four class system the only teams winning were Trinity, X, and Male in 4A. Highlands was a machine in 3A with others breaking through every few years. The only wide open class was 2A, and that only really changed once Mayfield went to 1A and Danville followed suit (or vice Versa). 1A was Dominated by Beechwood in the 90s. One factor of the same teams winning has to do partly with more small city schools losing people to suburbs and consolidation. Also some schools that play literally dress all the boys in the school and can barely field a team. 10 classes or two classes means zip in Ky bc the football is SO TOP HEAVY. Yes the teams may win more or less (depending number of classes) but it'll still be the same names at the top of the list on each class.

Went with my father in law to a playoff game between Cincy X and Colerain at Paul Brown back in 2006 or so. Guys in front of me quipped "I remember when X was a highschool not a small college". That's a ton of young men

Thanks for the article. I have always wondered why NewCath played in the GCL. My dad always says, "when their running backs are bigger than our lineman you know youre in trouble".

8-2 Win/Loss record. No playoffs?

From the video i saw and not knowing the rules of basketball I can see where it was called a block. I could also see it the other way around. Now if what was posted is the official rule, I'd have to say it was a charge just based off of a video shot from the opposite baseline. Would love to see a shot from that baseline

Game time? Same radio station as the Scott v PCC game? Those guys did a great job

Was going for the win the main goal or did the players take that on themselves? Pretty gutsy call to play for the win, when possibly CC would've given up an easy two so not to foul.
