I, too, made the trip over to Warsaw last night, as is tradition for those who played in the rivalry on either end of the scorer’s table. It’s one of the two or three largest community gatherings each year and it’s always a good opportunity to catch up with folks you haven’t seen since the fair over the summer. These were my takeaways: Hammond and Wills rebound like crazy. 31 between them against an undersized Demons front court. WHS has some dudes, man. Those guys can go. They just couldn’t have thrown it in the ocean from a paddle boat last night. 0/20 from 3 on mostly good looks. Foul count WAS lopsided in favor of GC, even without the late fouls, but not nearly as lopsided as the battle of the boards. The January matchup is going to fill up the Demon Dome. I’m glad these teams are facing off twice per season again. That’s the way it should be.

Not a terrible suggestion. Trimble and Carroll can usually be counted on for a heated contest as well, but again, that drive...

I disagree on Moore. Think he's expanded his offensive game, and was a pretty instinctive defender in the 12 minutes I watched him play last month. Not sure what to think of your HC/GC impression. I haven't seen Cross the last two years, and I'm intrigued by Moreno. I liked his brother's game a lot. Either way, I don't think Lloyd/Ryle will be much of a game, and I hate their bleachers, but the Juggs offer some talented dudes. A recently received text: "I want to see a D1 kid in high school." I know there's more nuance to that conversation, but it's a fair request.

I have the best part of the evening off tonight, and as fate would have it, one of my best friends has a hankering for high level high school basketball. Him being a NKY guy, I'd like to treat him to a little of the local flavor and have narrowed it down to the listed three games, but he's also very intrigued by Owen County and Teegan Moore at Henry County(and just thinking about that drive makes me car sick). Convince me.

Got Devin Singletary, Tony Pollard, and Jeff Wilson Jr for one RB spot. .5ppr league. Pollard has the hot hand, Wilson has looked good in his short time with Miami, Singletary has been consistently used more in the last two weeks. I probably have them in that order currently.

Averaging 13 and 4 assists on 13 FGA with a 2:1 A:TO. Not a bad start. And as much as I loved my time on the hill, I can't blame him for electing to go somewhere near a beach.

JaVonte Yangoua at Williamstown is a really nice player. He's playing behind some talented upperclassmen, but should have opportunities to carve out a role as a playmaker this season.

Isn’t he a senior committed to a D1 program? I don’t think it’s unreasonable for him to expand his game at this point.

It was funny to hear Mayo talking about winning state every year of his high school career. Did he ever play for Rose Hill as a high schooler or was he gone after his 8th grade season? Pretty interesting watch.

Bench KD. Steph and Shaq are both stronger off the ball. LeBron keeps everyone involved. Kobe and MJ are Kobe and MJ. I wouldn’t argue too strongly against KD over Steph if you’re convinced MJ and 2.0 are good with setting 60+ screens per quarter. Or KD over Kobe if you want a little more length in the backcourt.

I had a brief obsession with Amir and his on-court shoe game. The answer to the second one I never would have guessed, but every NBA fan certainly knows his name.

Amir Johnson was the last one. Feels like Spencer Haywood was mentioned in Winning Time as the first.

Don’t know who will win, but I do know that if you’re a fan of pep bands, this is one you won’t want to miss! Pre-game has been a real treat.

I know McDonald's fries are for children who dip their fries in ketchup, or worse, squirt the ketchup all over them. I know Wendy's fries beg to be dunked into a frosty, but are equally delicious without the frozen treat.

It’s Wendy’s and it’s not close. They’re more consistently good. Probably a case of Wendy’s just being an overall better establishment.
