Maybe but not many Beechwood FB players play basketball any more for whatever reason. I would say more kids at all NKY schools play FB and baseball than basketball and any other sport. -

Religion has nothing to do with it. Some kids at Cov Cath are not catholic and I know many kids at Beechwood and Cooper that are. I know two kids coming to Cov Cath from Cincinnati next year who are not catholic. -
They will be fine. It’s high school football. A lot of teams put in new systems anyway and they have 3 1/2 months to integrate kids into the offense. And it’s not like high schools put in a million plays. They can start in June and will be fine come August.

Shows how good kids are in middle school means very little when they get older. Some kids are just more developed in middle school than others and top out. Middle schools would be better served to have multiple teams to keep the late bloomers interested and involved.

9th Region Championship Preview

Actually this I believe is a myth. My opinion is that once you beat a team twice already in the same season you are full of confidence that you can and will do it again. In the NFL over the last 20 instances, the team that won both regular season games is 13-7 in the playoffs, and in road games 2-1. In the ACC the last 8 times this has been the case, the team that won both regular season matchups, the winner of the regular season games is 7-1 in the tournament. I also remember when UC went to its first final 4 under Huggins, they beat Memphis State 4 times. I will take Beechwood 58-53. -
I agree it should be a good one. I thought Cov Cath looked much better tonight than they had the past couple of weeks and seemed to shoot it better. Wonder if Cov Cath will have figured out how to beat Beechwoods pressure. They really struggled with it last game. Also when a team beats a team twice, they have a ton of belief they have your number.

I thought the fouls were a result of the way Beechwood played. They spread them out on every possession and went one on one aggressive to the basket and Cooper fouled as a result because the couldn’t keep the Beechwood kids out of the lane and cooper didn’t give much help when the defender got beat. Beechwood only shot a handful of threes because cooper didn’t help. Not sure if they just thought Beechwood could only beat them by hitting threes but the way Cooper played them, is why Beechwood won in my opinion.

Congratulations to Beechwood. They are having just an awesome and fun year for a small school that has has never had a ton of basketball success. I think Cov Cath is down and Beechwood is up this year and I also think Goetz has figured Cov Cath out. BW will win again if they play in the region. I will call it now that BW will the region and go to Rupp. -
The players also have to pay $350 to play.

Calvary Christian 64 Pendleton County 57

Why? Pendleton County has lost 7 straight without Allen and Rusch for Calavary would have been the best player on the floor by far. -

No I know who Reid is and he is a big kid. Yes he is heavier but definitely not as tall as Draud. Reid is probably 6’3” 220. Draud is probably 6’4” probably 175. -

He is probably at least 6’4” now. He was clearly taller than Reid Jolly who is listed at 6’5” but is probably 6’3”. -

Back to the game. The charge call could probably have went either way and the home team will get that call more times than not. The guy who took the charge though was 13, CJ Brannen, who also hit the bucket to put them up 65-64. He is a heady player. -

He has been at Beechwood since 7th grade I believe. He lives in Ft. Mitchell. I think he may have been at Blessed Sacrament prior, but I could be wrong. -

Wow. Nice job Tigers. I think BW varsity will win as well. Coach Goetz does a great job and he has some players.
