They have 33 players sophmore through senior on roster. Yikes that is small for a 6a school with 1600 kids in the school.

I think this could get ugly. Last week in a scrimmage without McGinnes and Shriver Cov Cath rolled. They are back and Cov Cath has just too much. Hope it’s close but think it could be a running clock.

I agree but they are not small either. Pretty athletic up front and bigger across the entire line than they were last year. Have 4 guys at least 6’3 or taller and two guys around 270 lbs. Three guys have started since their sophmore year. I believe strong and athletic is better than just being weight big.

In my opinion this is Beechwoods best team in a long time. They have 33 juniors and seniors, two D1 commits, and they are really strong and experienced up front. I also think if they wanted, with the talent on the team, they could nearly two platoon, which is uncommon at 1a. Now they won’t do that, but they are going to be pretty deep. They have some work to do, but should have a really solid season.

Looks like 4Th in WVA. I think they are in the large school class. 1,700 or so students.

Not sure. Last I heard they were trying to find refs. Hopefully everyone comes away healthy and better after the scrimmage. Looks like JC is run first, which stopping the run for BW is ahead of stopping the pass due to a most of the DL returning and new secondary for BW.

Varsity was up 33-0 in middle of 3rd when younger kids came in. Moore kept varsity in and JJ Weaver caught a pass and ran about 20 yards for a TD. Beechwood had some problems holding on to ball and didn’t score any more. 33-6 final.

Beechwood played a lot of guys. Thought the backup d-line did well and didn’t give up much. Hergott only completed a few passes and one went for about 50 yards and a TD by Odom after her caught an out and ran the rest of the way. Almost hooked up with Odom on a post that would have been a TD but he couldn’t Hall it in. Hergott ran the ball really well. Hergott will also get better once he gets comfortable and can check down. He missed some guys wide open as at times locked in on one guy. If Beechwood can sure up the secondary they will be tough to beat beacause the o-line and d-line is loaded. Also Derry is a stud at linebacker.

Weaver The big kid with offers from everyone has been stymied for the most part. Did catch a TD against the JV.

Not sure. But I do think right now Cov Cath is closer to the Louisville teams and then you have the nKy teams that are pretty comparable, Beechwood, Ryle, Simon Kenton, and Campbell County.

How was QB position settled?

Trinity have same rules?

My opinion is that this will Beechwoods best team over the last three years. They have 32 juniors and seniors, which is lot by 1a standards. They have two D1 commitments on the O/D lines, return 14 starters, including three o lineman that have started since their sophomore years and the offensive and defensive lines will be big for 1a. They also have Logan Castleman who has started since he was a freshman. Most likely they will start 9 seniors on offense and 9 or 10 on defense. That says a lot because they have a very talented junior class. It may take a while for the QB to settle in but they will be a run first team and will also be tough to run against. They will be breaking in some new corners so that will be important as well for them to be as good as they can be.

Who? 80 tackles in 4 games as a sophomore? Alrighty then. Might want to get on Ryle for not reporting stats right because they didn’t report those stats. Who is recruiting this player?

Offensive and defensive tackle. Will play offense in college I believe. Was up to about 6’4” 270 earlier this summer.

That makes sense, just had not heard that.

Yes he transferred to Beechwood back in January. They currently have three QB’s getting reps in practice.

Transferred from where and when? I know They did have another transfer QB who will be a jr., but he has been at Beechwood since January.

Beechwood will be a running team. They will be an all senior offensive line and probably the biggest line BW has seen in a long time. Three of the starters have started since their sophomore years. Beechwood will also have a big strong hard running fullback and good tailback in Castleman. They won’t have a problem moving the ball. The passing game will have plenty of time to catch up.

A couple of others. Dont think any starters other than one QB came in. Looks like Beechwood will be mostly senior starters this year. 16 seniors and 17 juniors on the roster.

I would imagine he will get rest. Josh Derry will get a lot of carries.
