I think Smith is fine and will play when it counts. Kid is very fast and is talented but needs to get tougher to play At the next level. He takes himself out too much and gets hurt A lot. I see that a lot with good players though, especially when they are losing.

Not going to argue that and Casey is a great player and athlete, just saying that Logan Castleman is just as good in my opinion. And the Beechwood freshman team was the only team who could hold Casey in check this year. He had a great year. Maybe they should move him up for the playoffs.

There is a freshman at Beechwood who might have something to say about that. He starts on the varsity and has several touchdowns this year. He has returned a punt for a TD, has had an interception for a TD and has also caught passes for TD's. Also was pretty strong as an 8th grader on the freshman team last year.

Am I the only one who thinks people are putting too much on Jefferson from Beechwood? He is decent but I've never saw him is a kid that was heads and shoulders above other kids his age. Coaching against him I don't think his ceiling is that high. I hope people don't put too much pressure on him and in my opinion, if he plays higher than freshman level this year then Beechwood will be really thin at the upper levels. Just my opinion.

My only issue with this, how can you put Highlands ahead of Cov Cath? Cov cath beat them at Highlands 39-21 and out scored them 39-7 in the last three QTR's. Cov Cath has to be ranked 2. Cov Cath also pretty much dispatched Campbell twice, once was a scrimmage though but they won both fairly easily.

Yeah the season may be over for this group unless they can find someone to play them. I see Trinity has an open date on 10/29:)

For the record for the Neer fan who keeps saying NCC, they play them tonight. They also beat Lloyd 29-6 and Lloyd won the big school middle school league last year. They also beat Scott by like 50 or more and Scott isn't exactly a small school. They have been trying to get a game with Simon Kenton as well. Lastly they knew they had a really good team before the season started, so I don't know what happened with the schedule. I also hope they will start playing a tougher varsity schedule in the coming years.

Beechwood did scrimmage Connor and beat them 21-0. Only a scrimmage but beechwood looked much better. I don't think Connor passed mid field.

Next week will tell who is best freshman team. I think Beechwood keeps McGinnis between the tackles and wins this one by a couple TD's.

Beechwood freshman have out scored opponents so far 216-6. They are looking forward to Cov Cath next week. Should be a great game.

Beechwood had about 5 8th graders last year playing so I would expect a Beechwood win. My guess is 30-8

Looking forward to Beechwood and Cov Cath on on 10/7. Should be a great game. Think Beechwood, Cov Cath, Ryle and Highlands are the best of the Freshman. If Logan Castleman was not starting on varsity they would probably be the top team. They have a really solid freshman class. Solid athletic line and some good skill players. Hopefully they can stay together. Only problem is numbers. Only have about 20 kids on team.

Logan Castleman. Plays corner/safety, slot, has a couple of td's, one an interception return and had a punt return TD called back last week.

I get that but why go to Beechwood at all?

Beechwood has a good line both on offense and defense. I think that is their strength. They hardly throw the ball but rarely get stopped. Had five 8th graders start for the freshman team last year and one of those guys starts for the varsity both ways as a freshman this year. beechwood freshman football is right there with Ryle, Cov Cath and Highlands as tops in NKY. They play Cov Cath October 7th which should be a good one.

Jefferson is not playing football for beechwood. Odd he would go to NCC for High school. Why is he paying to go to Beechwood for a year? Why not just go to his district school for free?
