First thoughts....Fiegler is a very accurate passer. Don't have stats, but 4 TDs, 1 interception and several dropped balls. My memory suggests about 18 of 24, including several throw-always. Stringer is a lengthy, shifty runner that gets into the secondary quickly. Slusher is downright awesome at the HS level. Three more receiving TDs, two fumble recoveries with one a broken field return of 35 yds to the NC one yard line. Too many tackles for me to guess. This kid is a difference maker and suspect will be a big game player.

Afraid Smith for NC suffered a shoulder injury that could hamper his post season play. He is strong, shifty, and ran away from BW's Stringer on his 2nd quarter 61(?) yard off tackle TD run.

Ran away from maybe ... hard to tell since Stringer stopped running.

Smith is a heck of a player. The one run he ran for a first down on 3rd and 12 was something to see. He juked his way through 4-5 Tigers and almost broke it all the way when any other back would have lost yardage.

Without question.

Game was a lot closer than the score would indicate, but yes, the Tigers were the best team on the field.

I didn't see Beechwood being that much better. Hergott called a great game. He recognized one-on-one v Slusher and dared NewCath to stop it. What were his 1st half stats? After his 3rd TD, NewCath started trying to jam him with Smith over the top. Nobody man's that kid up, nobody. Once he was eliminated, sort of, it was pretty even. Hergott let him Wildcat and get into the backfield as the RB. Want to say, I love Stringer ' s cuts. That is what stopping on a dime means.

He ran away. As soon as Stringer stopped, Smith slowed down. He wasn't catching him, and Smith knew it
