New cath has talent and has sir big athletic kids. I am surprised they are not better. The QB could be very good with the right schooling. 6'5" with huge hands and can move, throws a nice ball. Only a junior so I expect big things from him. Hopefully they work with him because I think he can be the best QB in Nky next year. He has the tools, just needs coaching.

 

I think it is a confidence thing from watching him. It is 1 read and go. I know that that isn't coached.

I was at the game tonight. NCC played hard, it has to be a single season record for personal fouls against the Breds.

 

I never felt like Beechwood was ever in trouble tonight. Both teams need to cut down the turnovers going forward.

Not that cut and dry. 1 tonight was during a scramble for a fumble. Smith pulled a player off the pile, buy it wasn't a yanking pull. Some times it is called, some times it isn't. Another, off setting personal fouls for mouthing. Didn't catch the numbers. There was one more. All different players. This is a players' issue. Just keep quiet and play the game the right way.

First, congrats to BW. Well played game with exception to a few TO's. Great game plan executed by great players. State finals are within reach for sure

Secondly, IMO, NewCath will not get past Lloyd unless they cut out stupid penalties and find someone else to call the plays. You have Anderson who is 6'3 being covered man to man by a young man who is listed as 5'6 and not once did they test that match up. The QB still runs to the sidelines for every play call. He must run 10 miles a game to the side and back. This team is not playing NewCath football and it's a down right shame.

NewCath coaching is their worst enemy. Bottom line.

BW was much better than NewCath tonight and they don't make it back to State. Enough said.

 

Saw it tested only twice. Once was for the first TD which was a no doubter jump ball in second quarter, and the other was an overthrow that should have been a TD later in the second quarter. Numerous opps as Beechwood allowed #11 to be isolated on NC #12 all night (shame on BW) and NC never tested again....shame on NC!

The refs seemed trigger happy with personal foul calls but I am sure stuff was being said on the field. The one I never could figure out was a personal foul on the screen pass to Stringer that he took all the way down to the 1 yard line. Did anyone see or have any idea what happened that caused that flag behind the play? Coach Rash seemed really irritated by that call.

Sorry Keymaster, but you did not see what I saw. The physical matchup was ignored by NC (shame on them) and could be very problematic by a better offensive strategists as BW advances in the playoffs. But, I Love #11's efforts and heart.

The kid was right there in position every time, even on the TD play. He did make a very nice open field one on one tackle later in the game. He also had a nice assist on a tackle of Smith in the open field. If he can just get a little bigger and stronger, he will be a very good player for the Tigers. He does a good job now.

A couple of side notes to this game. To enter the field prior to kickoff' date=' Beechwood honored tradition by coming down the walkway from the rear of the school where the old locker room used to be and where they came from when they last won a state title. They returned to the field house at halftime. Also, Mescher did the kicking and did a fine job filling in for German who I heard broke his leg in a car accident. I was surprised to see the Bred's kicker miss his FG attempt. He put on quite a show at halftime booming them from over 50 yards on a consistent basis. He was the only player on the field for about 5 minutes and since the band was out of town it provided the fans with a little entertainment. Kid has a leg and so does the NCC punter. They might be one in the same. I did not pay attention to the jersey number as I was too busy watching the kicks.[/quote']

Smith had 110 yards on 15 carries.

I totally agree with you. NCC #6 was also matched up against BW #11 and they only passed to him once I think. It was that way the entire game. Everyone knows the ball is ran straight up the middle 90% of the time, for the love of God switch it up a little. Horrible offensive play calling, every single game. I'd like to put the blame on the OC, but the head coach ultimately runs the show. Something has to give, and changes need to be made in order for the Breds to return to Bowling Green this year.

Little doubt in my mind who the best football player in NKy is.........Brett Slusher. I am surprised the kid isn't selling burgers in the stands. Brett seems to be all over the field on both sides of the ball..

might be out of line on this one. NCC is just fine. Their defense is pretty darn good. The QB is really good and... if 3 is okay they will make a run in the bracket.
