  1. I have followed Etown all year. They have a very nice team. Good balance running and throwing on offense with a steady defense. Paducah was a nice win. I was curious how they would play against them. Handled them easily I thought. Rick the schedule was pillow soft though. Somebody else put up the combined record and it was not pretty. Good thing is it doesn't matter and we are still playing this week. Let's keep winning and schedule strength won't matter! Region champs!
  2. I agree with Harry on this one too. Keep playing until it's over. The game was over, but running another play with time left isn't what I would consider classless. Sticking one in on someone late is classless. It must have been a woodshed beating though. 44-7 at half is what I read. Ouch. McCracken must be playing well.
  3. This is the game I have waited for after the Adair game. If Cecil gets loose it will be a long night for Paducah. I doubt they let him beat them because they will key on him I'm sure. Paducah will need to move the ball to be successful. Otherwise Etown will win this ball game. If it's close I want to see how we respond. We haven't been in a close game all year. That will be interesting to see if it happens on Friday. I can't wait!!
  4. Etown will win this game fairly easily I believe. Sad thing is they might be one of the best teams we have played all year. I hear Fort Campbell has decent speed which could cause some problems.
  5. HCP I wouldn't count those chickens. 7-3 Franklin, 10-1 Spencer, and 11-1 Shelby if they win out. No cake walk!!
  6. No they will not play spoiler. This is not the Glasgow of old. Looking at scores on Khsaa I am guessing they are probably better than all of our district opponents to include Adair. I just look at the Metcalf (1-8) score though and Glasgow didn't handle them with ease so that tells me they can't be very strong. I'm guessing another running clock if we play well. I have said it all year I just hope our lack of "strength of schedule" doesn't haunt us come playoff time. We will found out against Paducah just how good we are this year. Keep rolling on Panthers!!
  7. Etown has a good defense and statistically we matchup well, but we aren't near at good as Boyle, Central, Belfry, and probably a couple others on defense. We have been fortunate to pad some stats with lesser competition. The positive is we controlled North well and they have a very good offense. I worry that we gave up so many yards to Adair. The good thing is we didn't give up many points to them- just yards. I'm happy we are even mentioned though for defense!! Much different than the past.
  8. No. It will be a running clock in the first half more than likely. Larue is very young still and they are not ready yet. Larue is a JV team playing varsity ball. In a couple years Larue should be ok. They are playing several sophomores at the varsity level. If they throw it around and the clock never runs it will be real ugly.
  9. I saw some mouthing going on afterwards, but I'm not sure if the Etown coach was mouthing at a player or coach. It was a heated game after Cecil was hit out of bounds. Lots of fireworks for sure. Etown and Adair will both move on from this game. Lots of poor choices by several involved. That's probably an accurate assessment. Coaches and players both heated.
  10. I hate to say I told you so, but I was right. I said a running clock was very possible and it was 43-7 in the 3rd quarter. Adair has played no one like I said all along. The Metcalf game was the tell/tell game (27-22) and Metcalf is 1-6. Adair is just too slow. Cecil ate them alive with his speed. Etown will be 11-0 before they are tested. Granted I have said all along our schedule isn't great either. Looks like we will see Paducah round 2.
  11. I still stand by my previous pick. Etown will roll I think. Speed will be the difference. Adair can't match the panthers in that category and more often than not that wins most ball games. I will eat crow if I am wrong. My pick is 34-14 Etown. I agree with other posters in this thread that neither team has a "quality" win. North Hardin is the best win either team has and they have a losing record. We thought North Oldham was a quality win at the time, but now it looks like they will miss the playoffs. I can't wait until Friday night!!! I know other games are left, but this is for the district title.
  12. I'm not talking bad about anyone or any coaches. I just made the comment about the state of Kentucky high school football in general. There are so many bad teams across the state in ALL classes. I think soccer and kids prioritizing/focusing on one sport has hurt the game. That could be right or wrong???
  13. I agree here. I have said that all along. PT and Caldwell are the class of the region. Etown can compete with them though. Etown will be 10-0 because of their schedule. Very weak and I'm not arguing that point. I'm still glad we are winning!!
  14. How bad is the state of Ky football??? Think about this--- Hart Co was 5-2 and just got beat 49-7. Hart will probably win 6 games by beating Russell Co too week 10. Hart beat Larue 12-6 and Larue scores 56 on Fort Knox last night. My point in all of this we have some really bad teams across the state if teams like Hart Co can find 6 wins. This is a great year for Hart Co. 6-5 is a winning season and they don't have many winking seasons Hard to believe how bad some of these teams are across the state. Good job panthers! 10-0!!! We will all find out that Adair isn't very strong either once the panthers beat them handily. I know people don't agree with me about Adair--- they haven't played anyone. Etown will roll them too.
  15. I think Etown is a contender for the region championship, but a pretender for anything further. I'm not even sure they are a contender for the region because I think Caldwell is the class of this region. Etown will have a great chance to be in the finals of the region I think.
  16. I agree with the schedule being super soft, but Etown is trying to change the culture. Football plays about 3rd, 4th, or 5th in order or importance at Etown behind soccer, baseball, basketball, girls basketball, and then football. The key is trying to keep and get kids out for football. Finding wins will probably help numbers in the long run. North Hardin is the best opponent we play all year and they might get 3 wins. District is pitiful and that can't be avoided. I do wish we would have had a tougher out of district schedule. Glasgow and Bardstown are just going through bad times. Normally they are solid programs. Just not right now. West jessamine and Marion might go 1-22 combined. I think we win round one easily and then who knows with Paducah. Paducah isn't great either but athletically they will matchup with Etown. Hopefully Cecil gets his head on straight because he didn't play last week. We will need him for any serious stretch run.
  17. I think Adair wins, but I wouldn't be shocked if Edmonson beat them at home. Just not sold on that powder schedule they are playing.
  18. Etown with running a running clock. No offense to Hart, but they aren't very good. Etown will running clock Hart, Larue, and I wouldn't be shocked if we running clock Adair. Adair has been skirting by with wins against some very suspect teams. Etown will be 10-0.
  19. That Mattingly defense wasn't so stellar against the purples. 36 in a half. I'm sure the final score could have been much worse. Humble pie tonight. Like I said in a previous post that Central is NOT elite. They have a good solid team. They should win out.
  20. I don't think HCP is sitting in the stands nor do I think he is coaching a little league team in the Hardin Co. area. I would guess he might be on the sidelines coaching at Central to have all the "inside" info as he states. Plus to repeatedly bash the other programs in the area I'm guessing there is probably other motives. I will be politically correct and say BG will beat you on Friday. They have better athletes and they are more balanced offensively than the Bruins. I hope Central has a good year. I know they will have success because they have a good team. I choose not to bash their program or any other programs on a message board.
  21. Hardin county preps... I have read your posts over time and you sure are a North Hardin and John Hardin blaster. You take shot after shot at those 2 schools. Whether it's coaching at North/lack of defense or lack of discipline at John etc... Being an Etown supporter and follower I hope you don't start wearing our program out too. I know Central has had a couple good years of late and now they are world beaters. Yes they have a good team, but they aren't " elite" like you seem to think they are nowadays. I would like to see Etown and Central renew that rivalry. Central probably would and should win being a much larger school, but it would be nice to see them playing again.
  22. Caldwell and PT. Etown should win the 1st round easily and then it should be a great matchup week 2. That should be decided this week with the loser of the Caldwell/PT game. I think Caldwell beats PT, but I could be wrong.
  23. Etown rolls the rest of the way. District is a laugher. Yes and that includes Adair. Just wait and see. I'm not being cocky just stating facts. Etown has a nice team, but the lack of quality opponents scare me as a fan come playoff time. I think Coach Brown can keep his club grounded. The goal is for the panthers to get better and stay healthy the next few weeks. We will see some running clocks.
  24. Both will go 9-1 and 10-0 respectively. Etown will beat Adair. Speed!!!! Both teams schedules are comical though. Part of that is because the district is so bad. Neither team can help the district schedule. People can argue North Hardin is a tough opponent, but they might win 3 games. Adair's schedule is even worse. Adair will one playoff game and bow out to Caldwell or PT in the 2nd round.
