No. It will be a running clock in the first half more than likely. Larue is very young still and they are not ready yet. Larue is a JV team playing varsity ball. In a couple years Larue should be ok. They are playing several sophomores at the varsity level. If they throw it around and the clock never runs it will be real ugly.

Have been hearing this about Larue the past 3-4 years, that they're young.

How long does Larue get to be young? They have been "young" since the year after their Region Runner up 3 or 4 years ago? A team can just lack talent and be bad.

LaRue is a program with a new coach, new system of play that is VASTLY different from what they have run since their Regional title in 1991 (Newton, Brown, Armes and Jaggers all ran run-heavy offenses in the Wing-T and Wishbone), and a group of players that while they give all they have, are still a large group of sophomores with a mix of juniors and seniors. Plain and simple they are young. Next year and the year after will be the time when if the Hawks want to make any noise in 3A they need to. Next great group of athletes who are male is in this year's 6th and 7th grade groups.

 

It also hurts when the best athletes in the school are all females. Great group of young men but the athletic ability is lacking at LaRue and will be until this freshmen and sophomore group steps into their own. I can tell you as a Hawk alum the best I was hoping for this season was a playoff appearance. The talent just isn't there right now to be realistically in the title hunt.
