Elizabethtown 43 Adair County 15

I hate to say I told you so, but I was right. I said a running clock was very possible and it was 43-7 in the 3rd quarter. Adair has played no one like I said all along. The Metcalf game was the tell/tell game (27-22) and Metcalf is 1-6. Adair is just too slow. Cecil ate them alive with his speed. Etown will be 11-0 before they are tested. Granted I have said all along our schedule isn't great either. Looks like we will see Paducah round 2.

100% agreed on Adair. Called the same thing.

Adair is a bit of a paper lion due to their schedule.

ETown's schedule with N Oldham, Bardstown and North Hardin is respectable. A far cry from KCD, Metcalfe, and (gulp) Caverna.

Complete domination by the Panthers. Adair was never in this game

Domination on the scoreboard which is all that matters, but unofficially Adair had 7 more yards of total offense for the game 60 of that did come against 2nd string.

Biggest question for me though is why eTown has an assistant coach on staff tells an Adair player to meet him in the parking lot. Not like a Mark Brown team.

Awful lot of extra curricular activity from #7 and #10 from Adair and the Adair coach with the backwards red visor also.

Take your loss and move along.

Exactly my point, you pointed out two kids for Adair. I pointed out a coach who was hoping and hollering around the Adair post game huddle during a prayer. That's why the coach from Adair said something.

If Etown always wants to tout itself the "Home of State Champions" they need to act that way. That's why they have the reputation that they have among the other 5th region schools.

Place all the blame on Etown if that makes you feel better.

Good luck the rest of the season.

So Etown had a coach tell a player to meet him in parking lot? And was hollering at the Adair County as they met after the game. Wow!!!

And RickGrimes you say this was due to the actions of two players from Adair?

Cecil for Etown was hit late out of bounds twice on the same play, once as he was going out of bounds and again about 5 seconds later. It was on Adair sideline so hard to see what happened but a few minutes of pushing and shoving followed. Adair got 2 personal fouls on play, Etown got an unsportsmanlike and player ejected for leaving their sideline as coaches went across field to break it up. Rest of game was a little chippy and some talking.

I didnt hear a coach tell a kid to meet him in parking lot, not saying it didnt happen, just didnt hear it. After handshake Etown sang fight song, had their team prayer and all of Adair, players coaches and fans were at midfield. Something was said as Etown was walking off, someone responded and there was some yelling back and forth. From my perspective several Adair coaches and players were standing pretty far from their team huddle watching Etown leave and it seemed like they were waiting for chance to say something.

Etown was pretty fired up, Adair pretty down, lots of emotions causing dumb decisions in end.

I still think a disservice was done to Adair this year by their staff to fail in their scheduling like they did.

A veteran team that was successful last year that clearly was at a disadvantage due to a weak schedule and you do nothing to improve it?

They did not need to schedule some murderers row but upgrading one or two non district games would have had them much better prepared for this game IMHO

In all fairness, most, if not all of these contracts for the 15-16 cycle were signed even before the kick off of the 2014 season when Adair went 9-3. Once the final realignments came out in the spring of 2014, the rat race for scheduling was on for not just them, but for most all teams for the 15-16 cycle.

Adair was coming off a 4-7 2013 season where they actually had graduated several seniors in some key spots, and while they knew a pretty talented younger group was coming up in regards to their area, they were still just going to be mostly sophomore dominated in 2014.

These two year deals in this case can be a Catch 22. This schedule going into the 2014 season was right on par IMO with as youthful as they were going to be. This year? I'm sure they are thinking hindsight, too with a couple of those games, but can't do anything about it now.

If a coach told a player that then something should be done to that coach. I understand that players lose control at times and that causes some of the penalties or leaving the bench. But for a coach to do that to a player is no way acceptable.

I am sure it was an emotional game.

Still not ok, but Im hearing the conversation was between an Etown coach and the Adair coach with the red visor, as he was in the middle of some of the sideline scuffle.

E-town is better. The schedule didn't make them better and Adairs scheduling different teams wouldn't change that.

Some of this could refer back to an earlier thread about people being on the field after the game-

Strengths of schedule are more for conversation than anything.

I don't remember anybody from Adair on here pretending to be a contender, that's been sparked from the outside more than anything (for the sake of conversation).

This program is making the most out of its growth, as they well should.

Well coached + talent + favorable schedule = Growth. And it starts like for everybody, everywhere at some point.
