Elizabethtown 43 Adair County 15

Etown was better than Adair they are a nice team but Adair did have over 450 yards on offense. When we got to the red zone Etown tighten up and again play calling was suspect. Etown plays alot of kid both ways i think we need to do the same. Over the last 2 years when we play a quality team we loose. Not sure why we cant try and change things up when we play lighter teams our base plays work when we step up in competiction never work and leaves us scrambling to find ways to move the ball in ways we are not accustomed to so my suggestion would be over the next 2 weeks play all of our best players and i mean all no matter what work on diffrent things. In my comments i want to again praise Etown they whipped us good and good luck down the road.

E'town does play a lot of kids both ways, but there are a few notable -- i.e. Cecil -- that don't play a whole lot of defense.

Adair's problem NOW is the kids you want to play both ways ... are NOT used to going both ways. The creates concerns about chemistry, fatigue, coachability. I'm sure many of their offensive studs have played defense before. However, are you going to be able to function at a high level when you're tired or sore or banged up from playing defense?

And it also creates the concern about staying healthy. If a QB or a RB gets hurt playing defense, prepare for an onslaught of 20/20 guessers.

E'town's decided that that's a risk worth taking. Plus, with all the bizarre and unusual and sheer number of injuries E'town dealt with in 2013 and 2014, Panther fans are thinking there's NO WAY it's going to happen again (especially this late in the season).

Knock on wood, but E'town's been relatively healthy this year (Sullivan excluded of course, but we knew that going into the season).

Bottom line, Adair didnt have enough speed for Cecil, Sullivan and Jay Becherer.

I agree Etown was alot faster but in all honesty a 90 year old woman could have ran thru some of those holes Etown made very poor effort and fundamentials by Adair co D. I do believe Etown has a powerhouse offense with a smart qb who calls alot of plays at the line and gets them in the right spots very nice weapon. But Adair co still must try something diffrent

Some of this could refer back to an earlier thread about people being on the field after the game-

Unless I've misread the thread, it sounds like it was a players-coaches thing. Unless there's more.

Coach in the Red Visor was holding Cecil down on the ground when the brawl happened and yes, Cecil was hit twice late. The issue the Etown Coach had was with an Adair coach not a player and it was in reference red visor guy. That coach knew he did something wrong because he didn't even shake hands on the same side as the coaches. In my opinion it's ridiculous to have all the parents on the field during a post game talk anyways. Just asking for problems especially when you lose

If an Etown coach was running his mouth after a game-- it wouldn't be the first time this year-- did it after the Etown North Hardin game..

I saw some mouthing going on afterwards, but I'm not sure if the Etown coach was mouthing at a player or coach. It was a heated game after Cecil was hit out of bounds. Lots of fireworks for sure. Etown and Adair will both move on from this game. Lots of poor choices by several involved. That's probably an accurate assessment. Coaches and players both heated.

90 year old women can't take it to the house like Cecil and others on their team.

Etown does have a heady QB, he also starts at ILB for them, too. However, he doesn't have the freedom to make calls at the line like you think, maybe a few times a game in particular situations at the most.

Doc, Adair just got beat by a better team and one with more talent/speed. It's OK. You are 7-1 with the opportunity to one up last year's school best 9-3 record that included the first ever playoff win.

E'town's known for a lot of things ... but a hole-opening massive/strong/experienced/efficient offensive line is NOT one of those.

E'town's O-line is one of its WEAKEST units.

E'town runs a clean offense, meaning carriers and blockers get to the right spots at the right time without making penalties.

But E'town is not going to overpower many teams in the offensive trenches.

E'town is having a great season, but the Panthers ARE NOT loaded with All-Area offensive linemen who create gaping holes. Nope.

I think you confuse E'town with Central Hardin's offensive line. Those guys are good.

Stats in NES say total yards Etown- 443 AC-395 ? Not sure what's off there. I heard on the drive back to ETown on the Adair broadcast that AC had more yds. Not sure what the official totals are. Not posted on khsaa yet.

KHSAA official on Adairs feed says 425 yds-AC 443-Etown. Wonder how official they really are? Smh

UNLESS you are counting returns (punts/kicks/INTS/fumbles), Elizabethtown outgained Adair according to three sources (Elizabethtown News-Enterprise daily paper which covers eight schools, Elizabethtown's KHSAA stat page and Adair's KHSAA stat page that Adair inputs/enters) ... and NONE of them had Adair with 450 yards or more.
