Franklin-Simpson at John Hardin Class 4A Semifinal

Macdon what is your prediction? I'm just curious how you see this matchup. -
Elizabethtown at Central Class 3A Semifinal
Big Saucy replied to LVGambla32's topic in KY Football (High School)
I thought there might be more talk about this game. I haven't seen either team play this year nor do I know much about either team. Can Etown pull this one off ? I know going to Central can be near impossible. I would think getting over the "intimidation" factor is over half the battle when playing Central. Good luck to both teams. Semi finals is a big accomplishment. -

John was the underdog last week too. "On paper" Shelby was ranked higher than them. Shelby was 11-1. That's a pretty decent record. -

Here is another JH hater. Lol. Dino has now entered the "hateraid" conversation. They beat 6A Central Hardin and if not for turnovers in the red zone it could have been a 35-7 35-14 game. Beat 6A Meade County... I know yes they are down by their standards, but still a 6A road win versus a rival. Plus I think Spencer and Shelby were both ranked above John all year long. Rankings don't mean much in my opinion. Just look at the college rankings this week. Louisville fans were crying and get waxed. All I know is the Bulldogs are still playing. Nobody can argue with their strength of schedule. if you do your football knowledge is minimal. If you don't think Christian is a power house this year you don't know football. Ask Kevin Wallace if they were loaded. Christian had them down at half last week. To have BG down after 2 quarters your loaded. -

PRP did not dominate John. BG and Christian did for sure and they would dominate most everyone in 4A. -

I was at game and John was up 14-7 and the officials blew 3 straight calls in about a 4-5 minute span. It changed the momentum out of Johns favor. Shelby fumbled twice and they were given the ball back. The first one was obvious and I can't believe it was missed. The second one John stripped the ball and was going the other way. Those plays were huge in Shelby's 2nd quarter run of points. Even the news enterprise tweeted out about the missed fumbles. The whistle never blew on the second fumble that I could hear. I've never seen a team or game turn like it did in such a short period. -

I guess my point is no matter who is coaching at John it's not good enough. Is success only measured by winning "the big one?" I don't think so in my opinion. -

I remember people mashing Mark Brown when playing in a similar type district - region when he was coaching. It might have been an easier region when he was at John Hardin. Jtown was the region finalist most years if I remember correctly. They are not a football power by any means. I do remember the same people saying Mark Brown couldn't win the big one too. Dognation the talent at John Hardin is not the same talent of those juggernaut teams that accomplished the same feats. I have watched John Hardin over the years and the talent level isn't near now as what it was a few years back and the same results are occurring. -

Agree. 5 fumbles hurt in the north game. No doubt. -

My point is to be a fan your opinions are normally negative. Could we at least agree to that -

Dognation we are all just waiting until John is knocked out of the playoffs. I'm sure you will have some positive post ready to go for the bulldogs. I can't wait to read your thoughts when they lose. Ought to be comical. Instead of supporting the program, you continue bash it. If John wins it wasn't easy enough or the other team was awful. If they lose it's poor coaching or lack of discipline. If all you choose to post is negative comments please keep your words to yourself. If your a parent try supporting the program instead of bashing it. I bet YOU have done nothing to help it. Have you ever volunteered etc. I would guess not... I can't imagine your not a parent since you post frequently about the Bulldogs. -

I wouldn't say they had no business in the playoffs. They beat the 2 seed (spencer) in that district and played Collins to a 7 point game. That's probably not a fair statement to their program. They lost to some good teams. Beechwood and Cal aren't bad losses. -

I think someone said it best... brutal schedule for a 4A school. Looks similar to the old Louisville Central schedules when they would finish 6-4 or 5/5. I bet every 4A school would have finished with near the same record. I can't speak on JC because they are in the East and I haven't seen them play. Christian,PRP, and BG are ALL very good. I remember the days when people would knock John Hardin's schedule because they said it was very weak. Now that they have strengthened the schedule and lost a few games people are crying because they lost games to 10-0 BG, 8-2 Christian, and PRP (losses to male, x, and T). Comical too me. 95% of the state will lose to these teams. -

Central will beat woodford bad. They aren't any good. Running clock in order. -
5A #9 South Oldham at 4A #8 Shelby County Predictions

I'm going with Shelby. South oldham is 9-0 but that schedule they played is powdery. -
Adair County (6-2) vs Hart County (3-5)
Big Saucy replied to ACfan4's topic in KY Football (High School)
This is a crazy district because it's a VERY BAD district. That's what normally happens when all the teams are about the same (not very good). Etown is the best team in the district hands down. I'm not sure how much that is saying though. Glasgow should test Etown to finish the year. Etown will coast to the second round versus Paducah. -
Western will beat them if they don't show up and play. Once again western can match them athletically I'm sure.

Adair County (6-1) @ Etown (4-3) Predictions
Big Saucy replied to ACfan4's topic in KY Football (High School)
Gridiron guy that Very well could happen. I think Adair's 6-1 record is a product of a very weak and favorable schedule. Etown's speed will give them fits too I would guess. -
Adair County (6-1) @ Etown (4-3) Predictions
Big Saucy replied to ACfan4's topic in KY Football (High School)
I might be wrong and will eat crow if I am, but I think Etown rolls in this one. Adair has played a very soft schedule and losing to Edmonson is a bad loss considering they lost to Hart last week. I just don't see them beating Etown on the road. 35-14 or 42-21 would not surprise me. Other thoughts on this district game ? -

I don't really look that much into his unsportsmanlike penalty. It's kind a like a technical foul in basketball on the coach. It happens at all levels. If it were a reoccurring thing on the coach then I think you might have something. Knowing him like I do I doubt he has received many penalties in his coaching career. It's like easy pro said he is really laid back if you know him. -

I said JH has sime issues. I agree with you 100%. I was just stating these are high school kids and many of them make poor judgment in decision making. It's not just John Hardin kids I would bet. No hard feelings. I hope you guys win out. You have a nice team. I saw your game with central last week. -

Easy here spin.... Ha... Are you going to preach discipline when the star athlete on your team was slinging ----and is still playing. Easy throwing stones because the people in the state know why the suspension occurred. Some would say why is he still on the field playing. He might have been disciplined for a handful of games, but selling and still playing would be very questionable to a lot of people. What happened to the Corner on last years team? He is going to jail for a long time and may never get out. I'm just saying easy calling out discipline before looking in the mirror. South Warren plays disciplined, but I think there are probably character issues coach Smith deals with as well. I'm not picking a battle with you at all. Just saying look at the full picture here. I think John has issues with penalties. I will never disputed that.
