John Hardin 52 Shelby County 31

Featured Replies

John was down 31-14 at half and roared back to score 38 UNANSWERED to win 52-31.

Just got home from the game. Tale of two halves. Shelby County looked really good in the first half, and I was impressed with their athleticism. The John coaching staff made some really good adjustments at halftime. They brought extra pressure and played their assignments, and had some offensive play calls that went directly against what Shelby was doing. Once the momentum switched, it never stopped. John got three interceptions in the 2d half, and it seemed to shock Shelby. Great way to respond in the second half by John.

I thought the John coaches couldn't coach? They seemed good to me.

Unbelievable turnaround ! Congrats to John Hardin! 38 points in a half against a good team on the road is really had to do!

And they were playing without their leading rusher, leading WR and all world kicker/punter due to a disciplinary issues (great kids mess up sometimes). WR/DB Anthony Witherspoon was out with an injury as well as their long snapper. Tonight is just a testament to the true brotherhood within the walls of that team that are WAY TOO often wrongly scrutinized on here.

Hats off to those young men.

Kill the coaches can't coach crap guy. You are right they made some great adjustments after the half. This was Coach Lewis' best game as coach at John Hardin. Congratulations to the entire team and coaching staff.

John almost eclipsed the 600 yard mark on offense.

Due to not having their kicker Guillory; John went for two after every TD and converted on 5 of 7 two point tries.

I was at game and John was up 14-7 and the officials blew 3 straight calls in about a 4-5 minute span. It changed the momentum out of Johns favor. Shelby fumbled twice and they were given the ball back. The first one was obvious and I can't believe it was missed. The second one John stripped the ball and was going the other way. Those plays were huge in Shelby's 2nd quarter run of points. Even the news enterprise tweeted out about the missed fumbles. The whistle never blew on the second fumble that I could hear. I've never seen a team or game turn like it did in such a short period.

It was crazy, such a swing of momentum and emotions. I've never seen anything like it.

Is John Harden traditional wing-t or a hybrid wing-t team?

I don't think it was any adjustments by JH staff except one personnel change. Adjustment he made was in attitude of players. He got them pumped and John stepped up their game. Total domination in second half and that 1?pass play that went for 3 TD'S. SC just couldn't get anything going in 2nd half. SC first half is how they played all year.

BTW, the fumble calls were right. Especially the strip you mentioned.

I'm as critical of the coaching staff as anybody but you're wrong about the adjustments. The coaching staff made outstanding adjustments after halftime and completely shut down your running game. Trey Wright and Isiah (forget his last name) dominated the interior line the entire 2nd half. I thought they both were fumbles btw

They tried brining pressure early , look at first quarter, but Shelby was able to beat it. Played same D and pressure but JH just started executing. Shelby was playing same D as second quarter but John O Line stepped up game. All adjustments were in attitude. Plain and simple, hell of a halftime pep talk.

Traditional. All Delaware. They run jet sweep, rocket, etc. But they run Delaware's system verbatim (w/ the addition of their "spread" game that is also based off those same schemes and terminology).
