I'm going with Shelby. South oldham is 9-0 but that schedule they played is powdery.

For what its worth

Bullitt East 56 Shelby County 21

South Oldham 52 Bullitt East 27

I don't go much for comparing scores unless there is a clear trend and with these two I can't find one.

S. Oldham 35 North Bullitt 34

Shelby Co. 48 North Bullitt 23 Cancels out Bullitt East game

S. Oldham 48 Oldham Co. 27

Shelby Co. 45 Oldham Co. 6

S. Oldham 41 N. Oldham 7

Shelby Co. 40 N. Oldham 14

I like Shelby Co. but that is because I had a couple of classes with Mike Casey at UK. I haven't checked yet but for the contest I'll go with the home team.

I am not sure the North Bullitt comparison cancels out the Bullitt East one (both wins over North Bullitt for the teams). But like you say there is no clear trend. But using the comparison is all you really have when it is said South Oldham's schedule is "powdery".

I believe South Oldham didn't really play that well last week. I think too many distractions with Senior night, last home game, fall break, etc. Be interesting to see how they play this week.

Will also be taking Shelby with them being home team. Interesting to see which kids set out to heal up.

Shelby will score their 35 plus points

This could be a high scoring game. Think South Oldham will get their 35 a game also! But like you who sits out (if any for either team) could decide the outcome.

Interesting to see how each coach handles the game. Balance between getting/staying healthy, getting back ups ready with more playing time but also going into playoffs with positive momentum. May be more important for South to stay undefeated for the mental aspect to keep believing they are an elite team in 5A. A coach really has to understand the psyche of his team at this time of year.

Shelby wins this one, they are much improved on defense. Senior night as well, much more physical team

D has been very strong. Have struggled some with all state running backs this year. Would like to see them make a statement.

Both teams are scoring at about the same a game and giving up just about the same. I like S. Oldham in this game just because my Brother-in-Law's from Oldham Co. LOL

This game is really interesting in my opinion. It's been hard to figure out how good South Oldham is this season, due to their overall schedule. I'm not calling them out on their schedule by any means, but it has been difficult to get a good read on them. The sweep of the Bullitt County teams is impressive, honestly I thought they would take a loss to one of them and they nearly did to North Bullitt. Then they have a couple of decent wins over Doss and Anderson County. But there really isn't anything that stands out to really get a good read on them.

Shelby County hasn't exactly played a tough schedule either, their best win seems to be to a Spencer County team that is in free fall, losing to a so so Franklin County team the week prior to playing Shelby County.

That's what makes this game interesting to me, two teams that have great records, but no one really knows how good they are or can be at the moment. I'll definitely be watching the update thread when these to play to get a better read on each of them. I think either team can win this one honestly, but I would like to see a statement win from one or the other to put the "how good are they" talk to rest.
