But I also just got a phone call about some things happening at Ashland administration wise. And Mays allegedly resigned out of anger this week. Don’t know how factual it is. Any of the Ashland insiders heard rumblings?

I’ll believe when I see it. He’s been retiring from coaching for 6-8 years. And I just heard of a couple of transfers they’re getting. So I’d say if that’s true, one more year is in the cards.

Yeah. Definitely a different situation. But most kids moving “up” expect their roles to increase. I’m excited about this team. Getting the majority of the guys back was a huge relief. Sucking isn’t fun. Just want them to be competitive and build towards something.

I’m a little concerned early. Bringing two kids from UNCG feels like when Brannen brought Vogt. He barely played at NKU, then he’s a two year starter at UC. These kids might work out. But it’s a little scary for me.

I agree. It’s odd for a Kentucky kid to have ACC, PAC-12, and SEC offers... but none from any school in the state. Or within a 6 hour drive from home for that matter.

I was told withdrew. Either way, allegedly, there’s a big JCPS job opening up here soon. May 1st. It’ll change a lot of things around here.

He’s at his 3rd high school. And the “flip” is the biggest trend going in college football. What are the chances he ever enrolls at UK?

Johnson. No contest. Because a college coach rarely cares about who scored the most points against whatever irrelevant team. They watch a body of work against competition. And yes. They grade the competition. They look at how the player moves on both sides of the ball, body language during timeouts, body language when they’re coming out of the game. Can they guard anyone? Can they be taught to guard anyone?

And the one this year will be. And the one next year too ?

I never like to put anyone’s name out there that currently has a job. But I will say that one of these guys has withdrawn from consideration. Which will also most likely keep the other where he’s at.

I’m good with this. For sure. Would’ve liked Martin. But Miller is a great hire. Lots of UNC people were disappointed that he didn’t get that job.

Completely agree. But I’m sure you’ve seen it a thousand times too. Would’ve been a foul 10 seconds earlier, why isn’t it one now? It’s like those goofy “unwritten rules of baseball”

The first angle I saw, I didn’t think so. But the one that Matt Jones tweeted out, most definitely. If the ball is in the air, both players have equal right to it. But player A can’t run over player B in pursuit of it. But a lot of referees also have a hard time deciding a game with their whistle.

I worry about any other Horizon guy. Brannen came in and recruited like he was still at NKU. Same guys. Competing against the same schools. Meanwhile, Houston, Memphis, and Wichita State are recruiting nationally

I completely agree on the UK points. Everyone is excited about this new O Coordinator. But it’s not like Gran didn’t want to open it up. Coordinator calls the plays as directed by the head coach. Always happy when a kid has found his “fit”. I just brought up flipping next year because it’s become all too common.

Wonder what the chances are of him actually going to Rutgers. He’s class of 22’. It’s so normal on CFB signing day now for these guys to “flip”. Not saying that is the case here. But committing before he plays his senior season, all signs point to a flip.
