  1. Looks like a trap game for Owensboro. This would be an occasion for Owensboro to get the big head after their win against Christian County.
  2. Two observations: I noticed Butler County has fallen off the face of the planet and is nowhere in the top 15. I wonder how much Rex Henderson's stock has fallen. Also, can anyone make the claim of the Oct. 28 "titanic" struggle between Logan County and Todd Central to be named "the Western Kentucky Toilet Bowl?"
  3. 7-Halls TN. 5-Red Boiling Springs, TN 3-Crittenden County 2- Union County 1-Daviess County TB-Halls, TN
  4. 5- Louisville Christian 3- St. Xavier 3-Ryle 1-Wayne County 1- Newport Central Catholic 1-Boyle County 1-Danville 1-Jeffersontown 1-Conner 1-Leslie County TB-65
  5. Per yesterday's Louisville Courier-Journal, Clayton Reeves is the new boys basketball coach at Shawnee.

It won't happen anytime soon since they are both in the same district and they have to play each other.
  7. If we go four teams for each district in the playoffs, then bring it down to four classes from six. Otherwise, having only the top two from each district is perfect. In the time I played ball, it was only the district champion that got to go to the playoffs. The first round games have become an absolute joke the way it is now.
  8. Looks very grim for Grayson County.
  9. Also don't count out Hoptown as well.
  10. Franklin-Simpson- However I also see Wayne County as a dark house in this battle.
  11. 7-Christian County 5- Monroe County 3- Allen County- Scottsville 2- Henderson County 1- Marshall County TB- Monroe County
  12. Ludlow has been filled. Randy Wofford is returning as basketball coach. The only openings I know of at this time are both in the Louisville area at Shawnee and Whitefield Academy.
  13. Might come to the point if things continue as they are that Warren Central might have to end the rivalry and stop playing BG on football for a while, or even permanently if things don't change. I also see Warren Central even deciding to not play Greenwood or South Warren for a while while the situation stabilizes at Warren Central.
  14. 7-Crittenden County 5-Clinton County 3- Murray 2-Christian County 1- Ohio County TB- Christian County
  15. Billy Killlebrew is the new baseball coach at Todd Central per the Todd County Standard. Killebrew was the former baseball coach at UHA and a former assistant coach at Christian County and Hopkinsville.
  16. It sounds like Shawnee has the heart, but not the bodies to make it respectable on the gridiron. Here is a couple of ways to make the football experience more enjoyable for the guys at Shawnee. 1. Play a non-district schedule. You would not get a chance to be in the playoffs, but you can pick and choose your opponents to be able to play on a level playing field. 2. Do a co-operative program with a nearby school like it is done in other states such as Illinois. This gives a chance for kids from schools that either do not have football or have low turnouts for the football team to play. For example, kids from UHA, which does not have a football team, but want to play football can play on the football team at Christian County under a co-op program. They will wear a Christian County jersey during a game,,but can wear the UHA logo on the jersey and can receive a football letter on their UHA letter jacket. This can work for many schools and many sports here in Kentucky.
  17. I read somewhere, possibly the Warren County schools website, that Greenwood is looking for a new girls basketball coach. Any info on this?
  18. Thanks- Now for this position to be put under the jobs filled category.
  19. Any more news on this job?
  20. I went on the Whitefield Academy website and they give very little information on who the coaches are for each sport. The Whitefield Academy sports Twitter feed only gives info on sports that are in season. If you come across a name for the new basketball coach, that would be greatly appreciated.
  21. Rhea Stadium, which is where Russellvllle plays its games, was built as a WPA project back in the 1930's. It was also shared by Russellville and Logan County until Logan County got its own stadium. An another stadium that has an old school feel is Ty Holland Stadium at Murray. I was curious to see when that stadium was built. I know that was where Murray High School was. It is now where Murray Middle School is and just punt away from Murray-Calloway County Hospital.
  22. That was because it was a very rainy night and Fryar Stadium, Ft. Campbell's home field, had become a quagmire. Austin Peay had the closest field that was a turf stadium not affected by the constant rain.
  23. Correction- Craig Clayton played for his dad, Fred Clayton, at Caldwell County. He then went to play ball at Western and then became an assistant coach under his dad at Christian County.
