  1. Where does Logan County rank within these listings. It would seem that Russellville's sucesses would offset the futility that Logan County has shown in the past few years.
  2. If that happens, I can see the dominos falling across Western Kentucky and beyond.
  3. I see the Purples castng a wider net for this job beyond Tim Riley. With the recent succes of BG and Zion Harmon in particular, coaches from all across the US will be clawing their way to BG for the chance to coach a once in a lifetime talent like Zion Harmon. Will he be a legendary high school talent like LeBron James, Kevin Garnett, or Kobe Bryant? Only time will tell?
  4. This is a good time to get a two for one question in since it is in the same county. Any news on the vacancies at either Calloway County or Murray?
  5. There are also plenty of counties in the western half of Kentucky that never had a football team. Some that come to mind include Carlisle, Hickman, Lyon, and Livingston.
  6. Saw an article recently in the Messenger-Inquier that Crume is now the interim coach again.
  7. I am surprised that Trinity did not look at opponents in places like Georgia or Alabama. A game between Trinity and Hoover, Alabama can generate some serious buzz.
  8. Just found out on WHOP radio this morning that Kyle Eades has been named the new boys basketball coach at Muhlenberg County.
  9. Todd, Ballard, Hopkins, Muhlenberg, Edmondson, Metcalf, Monroe, Adair, Ohio to name a few.
  10. Owensboro Catholic has a good chance this year to go to the Sweet 16.
  11. Have the following two teams released their schedules for next year? Mayfield and Russellville?
  12. Heard on the radio that Craig Clayton resigned from his job at Hillsboro High in Nashville to be closer to his grandkids. Could he go on a wild hair and apply for the job at Ft. Campbell?
  13. Worlds apart from when Berner and Marshall Patterson were there. At one time one of the premier programs in Western Kentucky.
  14. Here are a couple of suggestions from other states on how they do their championship games: Alabama rotates their championship games between Auburn and Alabama. Maybe do a rotation where the championship games are rotated between UK, UL and WKU. Maybe put a strongly worded suggestion from the KHSAA to WKU that if they want to be in the championship rotation, make a suggestion to CUSA to either have their championship game at a neutral site or rotate between divisions in the conference. There is no excuse to play a championship on a Sunday when people need to be in church or with family. Virginia also does their championship games on a Saturday. How it works is that championship games are played at multiple sites. For example: 1A and 2A- Lindsey Wilson or Campbellsville. 3A and 4A- EKU or Murray State. 5A and 6A- UK, UL, WKU. These could be played on a Saturday without having to miss school and make it easier for people to travel.
  15. Maybe put the consolidated school halfway between Fulton and Hickman.
  16. I do not know if this thread is more appropriate for this forum or for the Controversial Issues forum. I trust the judgment of the moderators for the right decision. There were articles in both last Friday's Kentucky New Era and the Todd County Standard from last week of four Todd Central football players kneeling during the playing of the National Anthem, following the actions of Colin Kapernick. Yet, these players have not been punished for this due to it being protected by the US Constitution. The Todd County School Superintendent, Wayne Benningfield, was quoted that he talked with other school superintendents across Kentucky and says this is happening in other places as well. Can anyone confirm and see if this happening at other places in the Commonwealth among athletes, band members, cheerleaders, fans, etc.
  17. 5-Covington Catholic 3-Boyle County 3-Male 1-Lexington Christian 1-Elizabethtown 1- Dayton 1-Newport Central Catholic 1-Bardstown 1-Mercer County 1-Manual TB-51
  18. 7-Edmonson County 5- Metcalfe County 3-Christian County 2-Metcalfe County 1-Ft. Knox TB-Christian County
  19. Maybe have side by commentators at both Russellville and Todd Central on October 28 to present side by commentaries between the "Haves Bowl" at Rhea Stadium and the "Have Nots Bowl" at Todd Central.
  20. Smooth sailing for the Wildcats until the last game of the regular season at Russellville. Will be a packed and electric atmosphere at ole Rhea Stadium.
  21. I can see a team like Fulton City that has small numbers forfeiting against a team with larger numbers they would have to play as a district opponent such as Russellville now or Mayfield back in the day for safety reasons. However to not totally cancel the game, declare it a forfeit and then have a controlled scrimmage where some players from the team that won by forfeit can suit up in the opposing team's uniforms and scrimmage with them. For example, some of Russellville's players can suit up in Fulton City uniforms and scrimmage with Fulton City against Russellville. This will keep both teams sharp and focused on future games and scrimmage in game conditions without anybody getting hurt,
  22. Some sleepers to consider if they get hot at the right time; Bardstown Adair County Union County Paducah Tilghman- if drama gets resolved and takes advantage of playing of playing a tough non-district schedule.
