The Colts roll into Butler with this stingy fast defense. Last year we tamed the bears 42-13. I expect pretty similar results this year. I do however think Butler has improved, but will it be enough?

I totally agree with you about the numbers. It helps a lot with practicing. I also think the culture helps with building your numbers. Look at Manual, 6A team, large enrollment, decent football pedigree, but has canceled their freshman team due to low numbers.. Meanwhile at DeSales we are dressing 36 freshman. One of the coaches told me that this is the best freshman class we have had at DeSales. Better than our back to back state championship teams. They do pass the look test.

I'm not to concerned over Butler. I feel our first test, will be next week at Ballard.

Too many people get wrapped up in what class a team is in. I honestly only feel that it matters against maybe 5 or six teams in the entire state. Take DeSales for instance, there aren't many teams that we meet, actually there are no teams that we play that dress as many kids as we do. I'd say in the city of Louisville, Trinity, X, and Male are the only schools that dress more. I guess what i'm saying is the biggest thing in my opinion is the football culture that exists in the school. I'd fully expect Mayfield to beat most teams not named Trinity in this state. It's their culture. It's something that DeSales is trying to build. We have come a long way in the last 10 years.

I'd like to see this game. I'll take the Warriors in a close one.

lol. I think it's a given, that your boys will be in Louisville. Hopefully at our place, and not in the east end. lol

They are laying the turf down on the field. We can't wait to open the season Aug 19th against Fairdale. It's been a long time coming.

Brothers will be taking the snaps this fall. He is a very good athlete. DeSales had 32 freshman report for weightlifting. Future looks good.

CAL will be tough no doubt. Stud Qb. They did lose their two top receivers, and their stud rb. If they can replace them, then I'll give them the nod in the district. Winning the region is another story though. lol

I'm cautiously optimistic with this team. Having solid freshman, and jv programs helps build our depth.

Not sure about # 2. But we'll win more than we lose.

If that little shifty rb is back, which I think he is, then you should be the favorite. My order would be: 1) Mayfield 2)CAL 3)DeSales.

DeSales D was nasty. They still finished the season ranked #1 by stats. You can look my post up after the game, congratulating Mayfield. It was a good game. They made better adjustments than we did. I said before the game not taking anything away from NCC, that it was the State Championship matchup. We came out and supported our Colts, met quite a few Mayfield fans, and wished them luck. Good atmoshpere. I think it will be a good rivalry.
