gchs_uk9 Posted August 15, 2016 Posted August 15, 2016 This could be one of the premier opening weekend matchups in Kentucky. Can Caldwell County win on the road at a potential 5A contender?
Big Saucy Posted August 15, 2016 Posted August 15, 2016 Christian county will be too much for the Tigers. Speed and overall athleticism will be the difference this time.
JDEaston Posted August 15, 2016 Posted August 15, 2016 This game will be played on Saturday at 8pm, as part of the Jerry Claiborne Bowl at the Stadium of Champions in Hopkinsville. This should be a really good early season test for both teams, sitting near the top of their respective classes. Who wins and why?
Spinstopshere Posted August 15, 2016 Posted August 15, 2016 (edited) Christian County by 3TDS. Edited August 15, 2016 by Ram Rule 13
Adopted Purple Posted August 15, 2016 Posted August 15, 2016 Christian County by 14. Caldwell County has a chance, but I don't think their defense can stop Christian County.

rookie57 Posted August 17, 2016 Posted August 17, 2016 I'm going to go out on a limb and pick Caldwell Co. in an upset.
CCHSTiger10 Posted August 17, 2016 Posted August 17, 2016 I think Caldwell Co. will surprise a lot of people...
devils58 Posted August 17, 2016 Posted August 17, 2016 There is no doubt in my mind that Christian County is athletic of a team as you'll find in Kentucky. However, this Caldwell team is going to be very good and can match Christian County in spots. My question is this: can Christian County play sound football, not turn the ball over, and drive the length of the field if needed? I think Christian County wins, but just to have a week 1 shocker, I'm going Caldwell. Caldwell County 38 Christian County 35
hrcarrier Posted August 18, 2016 Posted August 18, 2016 Both teams should be good tests for each other. This has to be one of the best games going on throughout KY for the kickoff to the season. I wouldn't be surprised if either won, good luck to both teams.
Spinstopshere Posted August 18, 2016 Posted August 18, 2016 Based on Butler County scrimmage Caldwell may be having trouble offensively BC doesn't have a good Defense I think Christian County wins by 2-3Tds.
gchs_uk9 Posted August 18, 2016 Author Posted August 18, 2016 This has traditionally been a pretty wide open scoring matchup (except last year) and I think it might be again. If Caldwell wins, does that say more about their ability to compete in 3A or more about Christian's inability to compete in 5A?
tigerspride Posted August 18, 2016 Posted August 18, 2016 Spin, I wouldn't base everything on a scrimmage game score, both teams were trying to find out their weakness and who can play, Caldwell moved the ball well when on offense and both teams ran mostly vanilla offenses. County will be a big challenge for any 3a team, but Caldwell will compete and I expect the game to be close.
