The 2A Breds and 4A Eagles kickoff the season on Saturday (Aug. 20th) at 7:00 at Newport Stadium.

Last season the Eagles escaped with a 1-point victory in the season opener.

The Eagles are coming off a scrimmage beatdown at the hands of the 2A Lloyd Juggernauts (27-0), while the Breds handled the 4A Holmes Bulldogs (28-0) in convincing fashion.

Are the scrimmage scores any indication of how this one will play out?

What say you?

I think the scrimmage between Scott and Lloyd shouldn't be something to shame Scott. Lloyd is very impressive this year, if not one of the best Lloyd teams I've ever seen. Scott has lost a lot, their run game needs to improve, because the air game has never been there. I haven't seen NCC. But to me a 28 point win over Holmes doesn't impress me. I say the game will be a close one but NCC pulls a one TD win over Scott.

So you are saying Lloyd would beat NCC by three TD's?

From what I saw, NewCath's line is going to dictate how far they go this year. Holmes was getting too much penetration in the run game. NewCath has about 5 players that can break it at any time, but the OLine is going to have to improve. I feel like they will. Overall, NewCath looks more athletic this year than the past couple. I like them to beat Scott by 14.

What? No? I'm saying Lloyd is very good. I was just stating that Lloyd was impressive over Scott but people shouldn't bash Scott over their loss. I wasn't comparing Lloyd and NCC. I said NCC beats Scott by a TD.

I think Scott had a few breakdowns on defense that can be corrected. It was a few big plays that hurt them. Offensively it is a disaster. They line everyone inside the hash marks allowing the D to do the same. Perrin is stuck running for his life and little room to run. They attempted 3 passes off play action of which two were intercepted. One on one coverage on "outside" quick pass to their big target might loosen things up a bit and give the qb some confidence. Maybe try spreading the field a bit for running lanes. NC by 14

And Lloyd beat Scott by 4 TD's in the scrimmage, right? So if NCC is only going to beat Scott by 1 TD (3 less than Lloyd), does that mean Lloyd is 3 TD's better than NCC?

It's a prediction dude. Lol chill out, it's obvious you have nothing better to do than to try and start an argument. Next.
