Football is a game of matchups. Comparing scores is silly. Maybe he just thinks Scott and NCC players match up better.

I think Scott had a few breakdowns on defense that can be corrected. It was a few big plays that hurt them. Offensively it is a disaster. They line everyone inside the hash marks allowing the D to do the same. Perrin is stuck running for his life and little room to run. They attempted 3 passes off play action of which two were intercepted. One on one coverage on "outside" quick pass to their big target might loosen things up a bit and give the qb some confidence. Maybe try spreading the field a bit for running lanes. NC by 14

I plan on stopping in on Sat night. Having surgery next week so this might be only game I'm able to get out and see for a week or two. Go Breds.

Highly doubtful. The offense last year wasn't much better but there was a slight upgrade on the offensive line and more weapons that made it work.

 

The program looked to be on the upswing last year but running this type of 50's offense will not help get district kids interested in playing here. If there remains the option of playing QB or a reciever elsewhere they will most certainly opt for one of the Eagles competitors. As long as the district remains open this will likely be the norm.

 

I hope that I am wrong and the Eagles are able to continue to build on last years success. Good kids and facilities that get a bad rap.

And Lloyd beat Scott by 4 TD's in the scrimmage, right? So if NCC is only going to beat Scott by 1 TD (3 less than Lloyd), does that mean Lloyd is 3 TD's better than NCC?

I was reading the preview on Scott in the Community Recorder. They have a lot back on offense. Good skill players return and 4 of 5 linemen. Hard to believe they couldn't score versus Lloyd in the scrimmage. But, it was just a scrimmage so who knows. This game is big for both teams to establish themselves and get the season off on the right foot.

Should be a decent crowd on a Saturday night.
