Well, you won’t be seeing me putting MNH in the top 10 with the loss to Fort Campbell. MNH returned a ton of production from a team that beat them 58-7 the year prior. But the rest of it sure, you could make cases. I would disagree with them, but have at it for the top ten. But that’s not even what I was getting at, if they played today I still wouldn’t favor them over Pulaski or Graves. Maybe South Oldham. Even then I would struggle with it. It’ll iron itself out but Conner would have to do more than hang their hat on a victory over 1A NCC to convince the majority. Seems that the BGP poll reflects that as well.

The whole Ft Campbell thing just gives me such a huge cause to pause. If they win that game I would likely have no issue leaning towards Madisonville but alas, here we are. I'll take the Eagles by a slim margin.

Conner's best win is SK. Beating a middling SK squad who plays zero defense isn't going to cut it. They will get their shot against Cooper and Highlands before the year is up to determine if they can hang. Besides, who exactly would you be replacing in the top ten with the Cougars? I don't think I see a single team they would be favored over currently.

Kickers can be hard to trust at any level, but especially the HS level.

I don't think anyone was frowning at Barren for their schedule. I think it's just more or less the comedy of the RPI rewarding them with such a high ranking while beating the teams they have, which in turn makes one question their validity at said ranking. Barren County hasn't had a productive season in a long time. This schedule allows them that opportunity. I think it will serve them well.

By all accounts, Coach Myers is a fantastic coach. They smoked that hire. I think he will have success at Barren that they are not accustomed to and it will be a refreshing change to their community. I will say this much, I would put Barren Co's facilities up against about anyone in the state. They have invested and are reaping some rewards with their return on it currently.

I'll take Warren East 56-35

The Trojans have one solid win in my eyes and that is over 4A Warren East. That is a game they also gave up 52 but still came out on top. In short, you don't have to take them seriously. They have a very light schedule and one of the easier 6A districts in the state. Their RPI will look nice and all, but I don't think they make it past round two when it matters.

PT will be too much. Great season so far by ACS though. PT 56-7

Definitely not a bad loss for St. E Massillon is also a sub top 30-50 team across all rankings that I've seen.

Probably a mix of both. Glasgow has a pretty distinct issue stopping physical teams who take the battle straight to them, IMO. Barren completed one pass last night. John Myers has the Trojans motivated and well coached. You can tell it just by their demeanor. I also think the Scotties have a bit of an issue with inexperience at the quarterback position. It's obvious they miss Easton Jessie. There were a good amount of busted plays where the backfield was not in sync post snap and outside of the WR Martin there is limited options for the Scotties to beat you down field. I assume they will improve as the season goes though. Glasgow does have some really good looking kids out there, I have to wonder if some of the problems are simply scheme related.

Final. Barren County is 5-0 for the first time since 1995.

Intriguing. Not that Manual is going to win - but how handily they have.

If this is a running clock I would be stunned. Scott County has struggled but I just feel that would be a big turnaround in a years time. Has Scott Co gotten healthy? That’s the big question to me. If not, I’d likely take MC by a score. If they have all their tools at their disposal, I’d say the game leans more to the Cardinals.

I didn't need the Ryle game to know Cooper is real. I think the Jags are NKY's best and believe they cement that status further here. Cooper by 2-3 scores.

Sure they will get better. I think the point is why does it have to? RPI has been a completely inferior rating system. The angst is justified. It’s been bad since the day it was introduced.
