The Cardinals of Scott County (2-3) travel to face the Collins Titans (3-2) in a district matchup, the first district game for either squad this season (and Scott County's first game in 5A itself). I was awfully hard on the Cardinals headed into week 5 and even suggested Madison Central could entertain a running clock victory over Scott County. The outcome? I am here on Saturday eating some crow and wondering if Scott County has turned the corner after a 35-14 victory that showed off their multi-faceted rush attack, a fairly healthy roster, and a defense that made some critical stops and big plays.

So now the Cardinals visit the Titans, a game they won by 30 last year. Kade Goodin is the pilot of a Titan offense that leans pass heavy, so it will be crucial that the Scott County secondary continue their specific uptick (which included a pick six against Madison Central).

Don't call me a believer just yet in a Scott County title run, but I will definitely say they have the edge going into this one, even on the road.

I think I am picking the cardinals to win.

I say Scott Co. with a running clock win.

Game has been moved to Thursday night at 7:30pm.
