Madisonville-North Hopkins Maroons (4-1) | Graves County Eagles (3-2, 5A #10)

?'Doubts Raised Following Major Setbacks By Eagles And Maroons'

• Will one week be enough time for Graves County to clear up a nasty case of road "Rash"? The Eagles have been boatraced twice on the road, including a week ago at Owensboro.
• Is Madisonville's head right? The Maroons were shockingly outgunned by Fort Campbell two weeks ago in what might be the state's biggest upset so far.
• Can Graves contain the Kanyon Johnson/Markezz HIghtower duo again? The Eagles limited those two to less than a hundred rushing yards combined last season. Hightower (#1) and Johnson (#2) come in as the top two runners in 5A, averaging 324 yards per game between them.
• Conversely, can Graves manufacture more of its own offense this year? They escaped Madisonville with a win last year despite being outgained by 140 yards.

Series History ?: Graves County leads 5-4 since 1998 | The Eagles won 20-14 in Madisonville last year

The whole Ft Campbell thing just gives me such a huge cause to pause. If they win that game I would likely have no issue leaning towards Madisonville but alas, here we are.

I'll take the Eagles by a slim margin.

Interesting game here.  Most likely this game will be for the right to host the first round game vs 5A District 2 #3 seed (most likely to be Greenwood).  Graves is tough at home, so I'd lean there.

Plus that Maroons loss to Ft Campbell still has me scratching my head.

Is the WR for Graves healthy or is his still sidelined. I did not see him in the Owensboro game.

Give me the Maroons by a couple of scores, Graves County already won their Super Bowl to open the season. A revenge spot for MNH as well who out gained the Eagles in their 20-14 loss last season at home, I believe the 6’4 210lb QB Kanyon Johnson will be in for a big night.

MNH - 35 Graves - 21

The Super Bowl label ended in 2014. Graves football has one goal now. Get back to a state championship game but next time win it. If you think the program or the fanbase is satisfied beating Mayfield, then you know nothing about GC football or are being condescending.

Hopefully Acree plays. He didn’t play in the Owensboro game. If not the Eagles need to bounce back and get to playing at the level they were playing early this season.

Coach Edge and the Eagles say... wait just a darn minute!!! ?

@gcbleedblue not about what the fans or program want, it’s about what is on the field. Tilghman and Owensboro were leaps ahead of the Eagles, beating Mayfield was their Super Bowl. Not a slap in the face at all, it was a big win for the home crowd against a team who consistently has their #. Barring something unexpected happening which is possible, the end of the year for Graves and MNH as well depending what happens Friday night is a loss in the 2nd round to BG/OB/SW. Should be a very good game.

He's an impressive looking athlete. If he's not getting looks as a QB, I could see him as a TE at the next level. He's got the frame and mobility for it.
