PT (5-0) at ACS (5-0)

Both teams come into this game without taking a loss, and as @TheBallCoach made mention of, this is the first 5-0 start for ACS since the 2010 season when they lost to Boyle County in the Championship game.

Tilghman is averaging 49.4 points on offense and allowing 8.6 on defense. ACS averages 39.4 on offense and they allow 17.2 points per game. Tilghman won this game last season 42-7, their first meeting since 2008.

A lot of eyes will be on Jack James this week as he needs 2 more passing touchdowns to tie the state record. I've seen several comments saying there should be an asterisk beside it in the record book, being that he utilized an extra Covid year, and if so, I have no problem with that. It's still pretty neat to witness any kind of history being made.

ACS will rely on their ground game, they average over 200 rushing yards a game, to maybe slow the game down some and keep Tilghman's offense off the field. The ACS defense has allowed twice as many rush yards as they have pass yards going into last night's game. PT got their starting running back DJ Wilson back in the game last night. They had been using a committee approach as 7 guys have had carries this season.

No word on Martels Carter's status for this game as he didn't play last night, but as I have mentioned before, Carter has been used very sparingly this season anyway, so they are fine due to all the depth. Carter only has 6 carries and has 13 receptions on the season so far.

Can the ACS pass defense hold up enough to make this interesting against the PT spread offense, or is Tilghman simply just a little too fast?

This will be a 2 1/2 hour drive from Paducah, but I expect Tilghman to have a fair amount of people make the trip, the road games attendance has been great for several seasons now.

  • They do.  It's a Hudl camera, but they do pipe in the radio feed: https://www.youtube.com/@acspatriotathletics8590

  • ACS always has toughness and is well-coached, but they don’t always have speed. They’ve got some this year. I don’t think they can match up with Tilghman but I hope they can surprise everybody.

  • I believe it was a “sprinkler problem”

PT will be too much. Great season so far by ACS though.

PT 56-7

I see the district winner and the runner up facing off in this one. No doubt in my mind that this will be a great atmosphere Friday night, the Patriots have things rolling right now unfortunately they’re running right into a buzz saw. Put some nasty weather into the forecast and I’d argue this could be competitive, I just don’t see Allen County being able to stifle the Blue Tornado passing attack thus leading to an early night for all. Control the clock, move the chains, keep one of the best offenses I’ve ever seen off the field and simply hope for the best, best of luck to both teams in this matchup and moving forward.

If Tilghman can get the road win it would definitely help their RPI with ACS ranked 5th in 4A RPI.

This is the best year for ACS in years, but in all honesty, I don’t think there’s an IF about it. There’s some very defined tiers to 4A and this would be a sizable difference.

I hate that ACS is in the same district as PT because ACS is good enough to be a district champion this year but not with PT in their district. And the really sad part is there no where near each other but I guess the 4A is limited in teams in the west so this is what you get.

Is Carter injured?

Agree with Bill Nye on this.  Tilghman just too much, but I could see them starting sluggishly with the drive.

GREAT job AC Scottsville this year!  Great for them!  There will be alot of folks at this game.  Should be a great atmosphere!

Tilghman offensively has way to many playmakers for Allen County for sure Blue Tornado get the win I’ll say this Tilghman is gonna need every bit of help  with RPI and there opponents they can get.

I get it with the weather coming, just not good for me as I won't be able to make the drive tomorrow. Radio it is unless they stream it.

Does anyone know if ACS streams any of their games?
