I remember thinking Tyler as a potential D3 player, but I also have not seen him play in about 2 years. Reading on here and speaking to people around NKy, it sounds like he has improved immensely. Based on that, I really think now he could be a solid D3 player. How tall is he? Because if he's in the 6'3"+ range it would not surprise me to see him get minutes right away at the next level. And if he's not taller than 6'3", I would not be surprised to see him adjust his game to the bigger/faster pace so that he quickly contributes. Good luck, regardless of the level he plays at.

Congrats to Ethan... I'm a little disappointed because I've been talking to one of my assistant coaches who have been recruiting him and I was looking forward to him being in the same program as me over the next few years! But regardless, I am happy for Ethan and his family and I hope they find what they are looking for in Urbana. It's a neat little campus. :thumb:

Does anybody even take these are legitimate rankings, anyway? Head to head, especially when the games were recent, is much more accurate IMO than a computer's formula.

Cole played today.

This was the first game I got to see all season. Was really glad to see weapons other than Cole that the Colonels have. Game was definitely a battle. Lots of lead changes. Colonels pressing most of the game. If CCH can limit turnovers they are a dangerous team. They play pedal to the metal for all 4 quarters. Shoutout to Aiden Ruthsatz, too. Watching him play reminds me of the quote "It's not about the size of the dog in the fight, it's the amount of fight in the dog."

For what it's worth, I think both of you are right. Not that my opinion is greater than either of yours, but I've played basketball just about every day since I was 6 years old and I've played against Weyer plenty of times. Fan of Many is right in the sense that when you are as talented as Weyer, you can make contested shots and continue to take them even if you miss a few, simply because you have that much talent. I think GT is right because every player at every level, does in fact have a bad game every once in a while. Now, does CCH defense factor into either of those thoughts? I wasn't at the game so I can't say. But regardless I bet Weyer has a big game against whoever the Breds play next. He's one of the top talents in NKY and has worked hard to get there.

WOW! Impressive dunk. Kid has got some quick bounce. That's gonna help him tremendously at the next level. I was not at the game and have not seen any film. I'm assuming this is in a primary/secondary transition break based on how far the defense is spread? Just curious, because if I am wrong in my assumption and this happened in a walk-up/half court situation, it merely makes the already impressive dunk that much more impressive.

Fair enough. I will stand by my statement though that CCH coaches teach the players to treat every game like this one, since most schools see "Covington Catholic" on a jersey as a "target," meaning (for some schools) the biggest game of the year is against the Colonels. But I like what you said in post #83; its like what Cam Newton said: If you don't want them to talk, you have to shut them down.

Wants to talk? I think he is just implying that CCH intends to take every game, whether is be against Bellevue or NewCath, as a game that they have to play their absolute hardest and play to win. I do not see it as him taking a shot at NCC at all.

Will Nkysports.com or somebody be streaming the game? If not I'll be sure to listen online but I'd love to see how this plays out.

JV is tough to coach for a multitude of reasons as Clyde said. The first few that come to mind: the roster is constantly changing with players moving up and down in the depth chart (due to performance, injury, grades, etc.), a lot of players don't like playing JV, the environments can be less than impressive. With that being said, I would agree that Pangallo and Otte are two of the best in NKY. I'll never forget after my senior year I played in an open gym and saw Jimmy Pangallo and the first thing he did was congratulate me on a great career and senior season. Class act.

I read that there's one that blocks every page that mentions "Donald Trump." I know a lot of people who would consider that the best one ever created!

Class act. I love the Bengals "Bad Boys" mentality on defense but Whit makes the perfect balance. Now if we could focus on winning a little more...

Hate, hate, hate to see the Colonels lose, but if I do have to see them lose Holy Cross is one of the okay ones. Congrats to Ryan Schrand, his staff, and the players. Like I said in the update thread, the improvement of this program over the last 3-4 years is outstanding.

Regardless of the outcome, Holy Cross's development from 2 years ago to now is OUTSTANDING

Oh. My. Goodness. Disrespectful? What an absolute joke. The things that I've heard from student sections (both from within and on the court) are not even close to this. If they wanted to get rid of some actual inappropriate cheers - meaning ones that attack different socioeconomic classes, or the referee's personal lives - that would be fine. But cheers like "SCOREBOARD" and "AIR BALL" are what help make the high school basketball environment what it is today.

Nice to see CJ do well in the gym that his uncle and grandfather basically built... Charlie and Joe Fredrick are legends at Greenhills (Winton Woods today). Also really good to see Cole and Flood put up double digit numbers. Winton Woods is usually a pretty big and physical team.

Sounds like it will be a great environment for a Tuesday night. On a separate note, the last time Covington Catholic was at Holy Cross (February 2014), it was the first time the Colonel Crazies independently did the "He's Scared, He's Shakin..." cheer.

Wow. For the last 5+ years or so, the 35th has been dominated the majority of the time by CCH and Holmes. Congrats to HC for proving that they belong. It will only make for more exciting basketball come tourney time.
