Covington Catholic at Holy Cross 1.12.16

Featured Replies

Big 35th district match up among 2 of the 3 contenders. HC took down Holmes last week.

First district game for CCH.

At the Finn.

Teams have somewhat flipped in experience as compared to 2014.

HC stated a bunch of sophomores that year while CCH had a veteran team. Now CCH starts 3 sophs and those HC sophs are now seniors.

I expect HC to get off to a fast start and get the crowd rolling.

I expect CCH to win by about 15.

Can't wait. Love the Finn.

Can the CovCath 3 centers play at all in this game?

Can the younger Schrand get many minutes in this one?

Can Leighton keep scoring at 20+ per game against what will be a very focused effort?

How effective will Bezold be and can he get loose from the perimeter?

How does Holy Cross defend the Colonels?

How many CCH students get into the Finn? How many even try?

Can CJ Fredrick keep Jakubowski in check, if that is the matchup?

Should be fun for the boys on both sides. Will be an electric atmosphere.

Is this a triple-header?

Sounds like it will be a great environment for a Tuesday night.

On a separate note, the last time Covington Catholic was at Holy Cross (February 2014), it was the first time the Colonel Crazies independently did the "He's Scared, He's Shakin..." cheer.

Might have to hit Bard's Burgers before the game.

My guess is CCH goes with their "small" starting lineup for the majority of the game. The only HC player that the "bigs" might match up with defensively is Barnes. Maybe.

Really bad matchup for him. Limited minutes. Too little.

Can Leighton keep scoring at 20+ per game against what will be a very focused effort?

I think he will play well but end up with less than 20.

Key to HC's success IMO. AJ will have to work .

How does Holy Cross defend the Colonels?

I've heard good things about their D this year. Challenge is that CCH is now spreading the wealth offensively.

I'll take HC by 8

CovCath 73

HC 61

Looks like I'll be taking this one in, since Ryle@NewCath is canceled.

I'll save you a seat. What time you getting there?

I'll call or text you later.

I'll take HC Varsity by 1, CCH JV (win big) and CCH Freshmen by 8.

Good call on frosh game.
