  1. Bell had a chance to be competitive with Humfleet. Without him not much of a chance.
  2. The crew will catch some flak on that call. 2 years ago that was a good block: today that's a defenseless player and a flag was warranted. Things have changed, probably for the better, considering the well-being of the players.
  3. 7 Glasgow 5 Wayne County 3 Anderson County 2 North Bullit 1 Harrison County TB-- Glasgow
  4. I'm guilty of putting South Warren at #1 too, but after reading @DragonFire article I wonder if they may be a little overrated. Returning 5 starters? That's a lot of varsity inexperience.
  5. I disagree with this. These kids care as much as high school kids otherwise why keep score. Middle school championships will never outshine high school championships so let them shine a little.
  6. Why would a kid stay back if he would be too old to play in high school? This rarely happened if ever.
  7. Those are a 10th of what most college coaches make. I wonder what those coaches do on the daily. Does that include their teaching responsibilities? If so they don't make that much just to coach like college coaches do.
  8. If we are grading the Cards on where they began and where they finished an A would be the rating. If we are grading against the rest of the field the B+ is accurate. Watching the staff employ the platoon system for the first time with 7+ underclassmen on each side of the ball was impressive, and they definitely deserve an A.
  9. The show has been ok. I think it needed two seasons to realistically cover the book.
  10. Speculation from the article that maybe Apple is concerned with the growing use of this by the Feds and could be ashamed of their own involvement. It's a rock and a hard place with no solid answer.
  11. ^^^^^ great post :thumb: Sad to say this will be the case in the haves and have nots will just grow.
  12. 0 professions have had frozen wages for 20 years. Head coaches can normally arrange a pretty good deal as they come in: AD, weightlifting pay, extended days, limited class load, etc. , but assts don't get that. I guarantee you if you poll assts most make under 2 grand. If you just paid them for a 10 week season at 10 hours a week that would be $5 an hour. Good pay in 1986.
  13. Great post. #3 is the most significant of your points. Stagnation of teaching and coaching salaries will kill the coaching profession. Everything comes down to money, and that doesn't mean coaches are money hungry. Hard to justify to your wife and kids why you are spending so many hours away from home for pennies to coach. Heck, they could spend the less time working at McDonald's and make 10-15 times as much.
  14. All for 1500 bucks... geez.
  15. Glasgow should beef up that schedule now that wimpy Barren is gone. Some local schools will be calling.
  16. This would scare any prospective head coach: 1. No assts. 2. No job safety. (They just fired a winning coach). If you are packing up your family to move to Eastern KY, you dang well better know you will have job and some help once you get there.
  17. Funny they stopped these in 81 but today is the day of the participation trophy
  18. South Warren travels to Central and gets upset. Belfry wins state finals. Male Mayfield (even I think Pikeville may be a nice game)
  19. Can't see them bringing Dudley back especially since he was participating in the some of the same things that got Mills fired.
  20. Sorry I meant Coach Thompson. These guys sound like total opposites lol.
