Is South Warren the new king of the mountain in Class 4A? Will Johnson Central get back to the Championship Game again? Is Wayne County the team everyone is forgetting about after the top two teams?

Did the Bluegrasspreps' staff get it right? Who will move up after week one? Will the top change at all this season?

Scott had an ugly scrimmage showing against Newport Catholic so they have a big spotlight on them in their opener.

For those who play a good schedule and very competive district the answer will be yes.

JH might be 2nd best team in 4A but will get beat by BG. No harm there. SW playing Monroe doesn't do anything for me. Would love to see them playing Owensboro or someone like that at WKU

I though NewCath scrimmaged Holmes?

I'm guilty of putting South Warren at #1 too, but after reading @DragonFire article I wonder if they may be a little overrated. Returning 5 starters? That's a lot of varsity inexperience.

They also have 3 legitimate D1 players, that can make up for a lot of inexperience, which includes a stud on DLine.

When discussing how much South Warren is returning, I am reminded of this thread:

I was as guilty as any in how I perceived South after the loss of a very experienced class. Most of us thought they'd take a step back, and instead, they became one of the best teams in 3A. It was and is a credit to Brandon Smith as well as the talent they have that we believe that they will continue to lead the class. They may come back to earth some, we'll just have to see. But given the talent they are returning (even if it is from so few spots), how they've performed at the lower levels, and the reputation that they've built in the past two years, we're going to have to be shown to believe they're overrated. They've at least earned the right to be trusted after the last few years. Now, next year, some of that goodwill may start slowing.

Scott played Lloyd. Ugly is an understatement.
