Offense was clicking again tonight. Defense started off a little sluggish but made some adjustments and really turned it around in the second half only allowing 7 points on the first drive and then not giving up much after that! Spoiler Alert: In case anyone didn't know, Dante Hendrix is UNREAL!!!!!! Kid had 3 TD's tonight and 2 INT's. No disrespect to the young man from SK but he has to be the best WR and DB in this area!!!

Didn't get to see the game but got a detailed report. It looks and sounds like both teams tonight have bright futures. Two good freshman teams out there tonight that played a heck of a game

I know this may seem like an obvious question, but with his size I am just curious. Do they want him to play QB? Or do they see him as more of an athlete? Have seen him get some reps at WR and RB this year a little so I didn't know if maybe teams wanted him to play something else? Either way, congrats on a great offer for a great football player!!

I have no affiliation with SK. I actually do not like them at all! But every time you see a SK thread here you are saying the SAME thing in every one. Everyone knows how you feel, you made your point. This is a thread about who will win the Conner/SK game tomorrow night. SK plays who is on their schedule that week. Should they not play Conner and CAL, probably. But they do, contracts are two years so there is nothing they could have done this year. Next year, maybe they have replaced one or both of those with a better game. But even if they didn't, no one needs to read every ten minutes the same exact thing in every thread.

Don't know about other teams but I believe that Cooper and Highlands renewed their home and home the next two years. Looking forward to another fun matchup next year! Good luck to both teams the rest of the way

Kids have to have some accountability also in this. I have no dog in this fight, but do know that blame should not fall solely on the coach or the kids, but more like a mixture of both from the sounds of things.

Something tells me that other schools are going to start ramping up the recruitment of Dante now that he has committed. Unfortunately, it kind of works that way until the ink is on the line. I am expecting some more offers to come his way by seasons end

Coach Pflug is doing good things at Aiken!! From everything I hear they are supposed to be pretty solid this year. Brossart can learn from this and bounce back! I expect them to do so!

For those of us that were not there what happened in the second half? Ryle coast through? Good adjustments by HC? Combo of both?

It looks like one player from Cooper may not be able to go tonight as well. Leaving the young man's name out of it, unlike LB (ha ha), but he is a game time decision. Tried to go in practice this week and and wasn't able to complete some things in practice. Hopefully everyone gets healthy in a hurry!

Haven't heard anything on that game, but why is Ryle Freshman playing Grant County? Seems like kind of a wasted game. Cooper Frosh opens up the season tonight at 6:00 PM, I believe, against the mighty Breds of NCC and I think it is up on the hill even. Someone correct me if I am wrong. Good luck to both teams and I hope they both stay injury free on this warm evening.

I am not down playing how good NCC might be, because I think they have some solid talent. But, we are measuring them off a scrimmage against a well below average Holmes team and a game against a very bad Scott team right now. I think this game will be able to tell a lot more about both teams. If NCC wins, they are definitely in good shape. If Cooper wins by a solid margin then it shows that thy may be ok and will be a team that improves each week. I think this is a good matchup for both teams and we will know more about both at about 10:15 Friday night!

I think a lot of that has to do with the hatred one fan has cause for SK on here. But I think the fact that there is a connection between Cooper and NCC is why this game is constantly played. Borchers graduated from NCC. Also, again because of a certain poster, SK has been claimed as one of the elite in the state and its said over and over they can play with the Male, Trinity, etc.'s of the world. So people question why they don't schedule them. No one from Cooper touts them as one of the greatest teams in the state but more a solid program on the up swing who is capable of making a solid run in the playoffs. Nothing less and nothing more! That would be my guess as to why nothing is said about it. That and Cooper is still 5A size so it isn't quite as big of a deal maybe?

Again, that is not true. Cooper has not had the same numbers as the other schools in Boone County. The area is growing, but Cooper has not had very good numbers on the football team until the past two years. This area is now booming with subdivisions going in so the numbers are growing but it hasn't always. Anyway, I am looking forward to the game Friday. Hopefully I can get my hands on some Skyline Chili before the game starts, although it is not something that I need by any means! Lol

I don't disagree with you on this, but to be fair the newness of the feeder program and the 2-3 years early on that they weren't able to fill the school does play into the development of the program. But again, I do agree that the fact the school is only 9 years old has no input into how they are as of today!

I am a little intrigued by this one. Do you not expect SK to win this by a few scores, especially being at home? I though Station lost quite a bit last year, do you expect this to be a good one?

Agree to disagree. Cooper has only had it's feeder middle school program going for about 4 years now and it is very important to have that program running smoothly to get the middle school players learning the system and being a JAG as early as possible. Those numbers are still growing, and that helps translate to the high school level. Not to mention. The first three years for Cooper was almost a wash also because many students that were juniors and seniors to be got to choose whether they wanted to go to Cooper or stay at their schools. Starting from scratch I think it is reasonable to expect 12 years to field a solid program year in and out with a solid middle school program. I agree also that I don't think he was making excuses but saying Cooper is doing a lot in the short time the school has been open, so have a little faith that the staff at Cooper will get the defense corrected and will continue to build the program this year. Highlands has a SOLID offense that will put up some points, Cooper just has to tackle better, fly around a little more, and be in better game shape and they will be just fine.

Wouldn't surprise me to see NCC try and go no huddle but I do not know how it will help them with all they have also going both ways? Seems a little counter productive

Hopefully someone a little more in the know would answer this but rumor is that he and Coach Wooley had a disagreement and Simpson stormed out and quit

I want to start this thread off first by saying I only heard this from someone I have not confirmed, has anyone heard about coach Simpson quitting yesterday in the middle of practice? I hope not for the kids sake

I know nothing about Henry Clay but do know Ryle will sling it around with Morgan at QB! Hope Henry Clay can cover the pass!? Can someone tell us a little about Clay?
