No offense to the Ross kid at Ryle, but he doesn't even start at DL for them? He rotates in short yardage packages so I am curious how he got the nod on the DL. I thought he would be on the OL. If it were me, which doesn't mean much, I would put him on the OL and put Roksvag from Cooper on the DL. Again, not trying to take anything away from him, congrats to him on an awesome honor, just kind of curious as to how he got on the DL.

Mitchell Hollifield from Cooper is very good, he attended the Ray Guy kicking camp over the summer and was a top 3 rated place kicker and punted out of everyone there. A little better at field goals and punting than kickoffs right now but does all 3 well

A good night for Cooper. After a first drive for Station where they converted 3 3rd and longs and two 4th downs and scored the Cooper D stepped up and caused a few turnovers and were flying around. Offense played well with some other options getting involved on offense in Armour and Schlarman. Got to sure up a few things on both sides if they want to beat Ryle but the team looked much improved and fresh coming off the bye week! On a side note, why is Bryan Station such an awful place for a football game? They get no support for their program. Easily twice as many Cooper fans as Station fans last night, why is that if anyone is in the no? They are decent most years you'd think people would get behind them

A lot easier said than done, the slowing down Hendrix with scheme part. Ryle tried that last time and it didn't work out very well for them. Although they did still get the win. I expect this game to be another battle! Can Cooper limit Chisholm and make some plays defensively? I think that is the key to this game. If Cooper can cause a few TO's or find a way to slow down Ryle's running game then they can win. That is not an easy task though! I am looking forward to Friday, it should be another great matchup in this rivalry. Seems over the past 4 or so years every game these two teams play is close and decided by a few plays. Opinions will be different no matter what, but what I know is fact is that Cooper could care less about that game and is only focused on Ryle. I would expect Conner is in the same boat with SC or it will be a long night for the Cougars. I think SC will take this one by 7-10. One to many athletes for Conner, IMO

Cooper should beat Bryan Station tonight, but that is why they play the game! It will be a fun matchup tonight and looking forward to the "upset" possibility

For those of us not in the know, why is Sam Harp such a big deal? From reading previous posts I assume he was the head coach the years Danville was a power house?

Cooper made it in '12 as a 3 seed. I know that isn't a 4 but it is possible for lower seeds to make a run. With that being said, they were a 9-1 3 seed due to tiebreaker

I could see a couple REALLY NICE second round games. Manuel/McCracken Conner/Scott County Male/Central Hardin Cooper/Lafayette Those could all be very nice second round matchups. I kind of like this format. Nice work!

Conner should win this game going away but Dunbar does have some really good athletes and if I remember correctly won a few games in the playoffs last year or played Lafayette really close

I honestly think SK would be better off sticking with the younger kid at QB and putting Racke at RB and slot and getting him touches that way. The rotation thing doesn't work and it hurt them against Ryle. I know I'm not there everyday but from seeing them a few times I think they would be better suited with #7 at QB full time

I believe Henry Clay is on a 2 game win streak and only lost to Ryle by 6 in the beginning of the season. I know that was a long time ago but that may give them a little confidence. Ryle should win comfortably but can't let HC hang around or they could keep it interesting

6A first round playoff game is a rematch from earlier in the season. Cooper came away with a 52-28 victory on their home field. What is everyone's thoughts and predictions on this one? Can Cooper get a win on the road or will Station make enough plays to win this one?

This game has to be Conner big by now right??

I think Sander Roksvag has to be mentioned on the DL for Cooper. Dude is a beast

I totally agree, and I think he should be a finalist if not win it, (obviously a little biased as well) but I think the fact that Cooper is not among the state's "Elite" teams that it will hurt his chances. The criteria speaks for itself outside of him playing for someone like Trinity or someone like that. I think if Cooper has a strong run in the playoffs with a few "upsets" then there is a chance.

Same thing for my team (Cooper) it has worked out well for both teams. But, obviously a little bit better for Trinity :-)

Maybe if he played some better competition like us teams up here in NKY have played! Ha ha ha. JK buddy! I actually just watched the game against St. X and he looked pretty darn good in that game! Is he a senior or Junior?

I wish Cooper's season would have gone a little better as there is no way Dante Hendrix should not be in this conversation. I understand why he isn't though as Cooper finished 6-4 but he has the stats on both sides of the ball plus lifetime award he has good numbers as well. I know he won't win but I wish he would get the recognition he deserves and be on the finalist list.

In my opinion, if Cooper is going to keep a grass field, it has to be completely re-done. Grade it out, add more top soil, put in a better draining system, etc. All of this would be EXTREMELY expensive and would probably cost about half of what brand new turf would cost. It isn't worth that and Cooper can't afford it. I know for a fact that a TON of money goes into that field every off season to make it look good for the fall. It just doesn't maintain. There is no down time on the field and when it gets wet once and is played on it is ruined. I honestly think that it could be improved just by better draining as it would keep it a little more dry. The field is usually a benefit for Cooper in most years as they build their team on defense and running the ball but this year Cooper is more of a passing team that puts up points. Not easy to do on a bad surface. It was a hard fought game by both teams and Conner made a few more plays. Oh well, on to the next one!

We also have to take into account that the 33rd district soccer games were played on Cooper's field this year also. That is a ton of games to be played on a field that already drains terribly. I would have loved to have seen this game played on a dry surface. You have to give Conner credit, they adapted to the elements a lot better than Cooper and fed their big RB the ball over and over. Offensively, this year, Cooper sets up its running game with its passing game. Conner played well defensively against Cooper and that, along with the sloppy field, made it difficult for Cooper to get the passing game going. When you like to sling the ball and use that to set up the run it makes the running game ineffective if you are unable to pass the ball. Kudos to Conner, they were the better team Saturday night. It was the worst offensive performance of the season for the Jags but I expect they will be ready to go next week at Bryan Station for round 1 of the playoffs.

It has all been looked into and unfortunately just way to expensive for an athletic program to fund. It would be pretty affordable for a school district but as we all know Boone County doesn't look at athletics in a very positive light! The field looks fantastic in August before anyone uses it there is just no possible way to maintain it when freshman, JV, and Varsity boys and girls soccer play on it plus Freshman, JV, and Varsity Football all play on it as well. That is sometimes 8 different games a week on the field

A potential Ryle/Cooper 2nd round matchup if both teams win. That could be fun again
