I still don't think we know a ton about Conner, as their schedule has not allowed them to produce many results. I think they are a good team, but playing a BAD Scott team this year they beat them how they should have. I watched Scott and NCC play and I am assuming Perrin didn't play against Conner and Scott doesn't have much else. Dixie is not a bad team but they are 1 dimensional and it sounds like Conner did a nice job containing him. I think the verdict is still out on Conner but it does look like they are solid. They played pretty well against SK but that was not the same SK team that I have seen in other games. The question is how much of that was because of what Conner did? I don't know the answer to that question. I would expect them to win this game by at least 21 if they want to be taken seriously.

I think Conner and Cooper are 10/11, imo and it doesn't matter which order. That will shake itself out in a few weeks. Cooper did not play very well Friday night, credit SK for that. But the difference in that game was big plays. Cooper made some uncharacteristic mistakes in that game giving up 3 passing TD's of like 50+ yards. Lonaker also missed some wide open receivers in that game. Again, the credit goes to SK. They dominated Cooper up front and wanted it more! But I think it will be a good battle between Conner and Cooper like it is every year.

I am putting words into your mouth here, but please correct me if I am off because obviously we may have different opinions. I kind of thought the Beechwood/CCH game would be a 3 score game in CCH favor. Are you in agreement with that and think the score will be likewise for Cooper/SK, or do you think both games will be closer?

Just feels like I hear his name more than I heard the other two but I do know with one of them there was a lot of discipline issues

Is it fair to say that Snow is the best soccer player to come through Cooper in its short existence? Seems like this guy is in on almost every goal whether it is scoring or an assist!

#13, Schlarman plays some offense, but not a ton. He is in the receiver rotation. Jackson played some corner but only because of injury issues. But again, neither of these players played more than about 50% of the snaps on the opposite side of the ball. Very different than playing "both ways" and playing the majority of the game there.

I think that this game has the making of being one of the best games in NKY this year. You have two very solid coaching staffs and a ton of athletes all over the field for both teams. You have two of the best OL in the area in Williams and Rocsvag and with him going both ways Rocsvag (#53) for Cooper is one of the best DL in the area as well. Should be fun if they line up across from each other. The Hendrix/Kincaid matchup will be a fun one also. In my opinion Cooper's D can play like they did the second half of Bryan Station and most of the Campbell game then I think they have a real shot at it. Offense has to keep doing what they have been doing and keeping SK's defense on the field and ending most of their drives with scores. I think it may come down to big plays and turnovers. Whoever has the most and fewest, respectively, might come out on top. At the end of the day I hope for a great Friday night matchup between two good teams and that everyone comes out of it healthy and a little more ready for the districts and post-season runs. By the way, is it Friday yet?

Cooper is only playing 4 kids both ways, and 2 of them are spelled on one side of the ball. Conditioning won't be a factor this week. Hendrix, Rocs, and Centers are the only one's that play the majority of the snaps on both sides.

Have not had the chance to see CovCath play this season but I have watched their freshman. I have a question: Why in the world is #10 on the freshman team playing some varsity? That kid is a stud! Lol he has a varsity body already!!!!

I disagree but see your argument. When Hendrix was pulled it was 37-14 with 5-6 minutes left. Cooper was already down 2 corners and was playing Hendrix and their number 4 corner. Those are things not everyone sees or understands. To take Hendrix out to early was begging for a possible quick score

I'm not real sure what makes everyone think they should roll through the rest of their schedule? They haven't been able to beat Cooper for a couple years. They always match up well with each other. But with that being said, they do they have the talent to make a run at it

Not to be too blunt, but it's a good thing your observation doesn't mean anything. Coach Borchers knows what he is doing in regards to Hendrix and every other player. As soon as the interception by Schlarman occurred with 5 minutes in the 4th and Cooper only up 20, not 30, is when Hendrix was pulled. Thanks for the concern but I'll trust the coaching staff, especially Borchers, to know what he is doing. It was a hard fought game and it was nice to see other weapons show up for Cooper. Armour, Perry, and Schlarman really stepped up offensively tonight and Jackson kept doing what he does. Nice to see Lonaker spreading the wealth!!! Good luck to both teams moving forward

That is true and he is a very good player. You also have to look at the amount of carries each has. I am sure the carries per game are heavily in his favor.

Piggy backing off of Hellbird's thread where he is discussing the three best at QB, RB, and WR, I wanted to get a little more specific and discuss who has the best three players on the same team at this spot. Here is what I mean: (Using Cooper because that is the team that I root for.) QB - Jared Lonaker RB - Jaden Jackson WR - Dante Hendrix Has to be one of the top 3 in the area, IMO. Jared is top 5 in the state at QB right now, Dante is, again in my biased opinion, the best receiver in the state, and Jaden is a very good RB that has put up very good numbers. Let's hear some of the other teams top 3's and who we think has the best 3. **Note - It DOES NOT have to be QB, RB, and WR. It can be QB, WR, WR or any other combo offensively.**

I tend to think this game will be a matchup of Cooper's DL and Campbell's O-Line. If this game is decided by secondaries that has to be an advantage to Cooper simply because of Hendrix but also that if Campbell has to go to the passing game often it is because Cooper is doing a good job of stuffing the run. I expect a HEAVY dose of the power game from Campbell to try and wear down Cooper's big boys. Cooper plays quite a few kids as well. From what I have heard there are only like 3-4 players for Cooper going two ways, and only 1-2 taking over 90% of the snaps both ways. I guess we will see if that holds true. Good luck to both teams on a hard fought, competitive NKY 6A football game.

I will admit I have only had the chance to see pieces of each team. Haven't seen much. I do know Trinity has a nasty D and from what I saw Male was struggling a bit offensively. I think if Male can find a way to grind it out on O then they have a chance. Otherwise, I would expect T to win by somewhere around the 18-24 point range

It was a rough night for the young Jags to say the least. Looked a lot different than last week. Had a few kids injured, and Cov Cath gashed them with the run. Cooper couldn't get anything going on offense and it looked like the same focus wasn't there this week! Kudos to CCH on a great game!

Two things: Game of the week. Cooper is the Cooper Jaguars, not the Cooper Cougars! Next, on the mention of Conner, Cooper played SK to a 13-12 game last year, so that part is a little off about being the closest game for SK against a NKY team. Other than that I don't have any problems with these rankings. Well, I think Cooper is a little low, but I can make an argument either way so I am content. NICE WORK!!

You guys do realize this is done weekly right? So it doesnt look as much at three weeks ago as it does Highlands has lost two in a row and Cooper has won two in a row. Not necessarily right but it is how weekly rankings go. Kind of a what have you done lately type of ranking

They have to sure up there defense if they want to make any type of run at going to Bowing Green, but I know that is the way Cooper likes it! Under the radar!

Come on man! I don't even know the guy but I do know it is unreasonable to start this kind of chatter after game 3 in a coaches 1st season!! This is the problem with high school athletics. A guy gets $7,500 a year to coach a team and doesn't even get time to build a program. Give this guy time! From what I remember Montgomery wasn't going to be very good anyway as they lost a ton from last year! Seems like the kids are competing, trying hard, and are not getting blown out!

Or outside of their district? Like, not even on the state.
