Great explanation of your point of view. Admittedly, I am judging from the outside in and have not been apart of your staff, just going by what I have been told from former staff. I wish you nothing but the best of luck this season. BTW I think your combine has been great for many student athletes!

I am curious to hear as to why Ballard "seems to have supplanted" Manual. Manual has beaten Ballard 6 of the last 7 games including twice in the playoffs.

For one it is Waggener. Two, what grown man refers to high school students at a local high School as "gangbangers". Also, they struggled academically at the most rigorous high school in Louisville, they will be fine wherever they end up, with coaches and support that care for them as young men.

I would agree that he has done a lot for athletes throughout the state and I think he is a solid guy. On a coaching level, just don't think he can take them to the next level, for the main reason that he struggles to relinquish responsibilities to his coaching staff which hurts them in big games. With the schedule Ballard has each year, which is fairly soft, and the talent they have each year they should be have 10 win seasons year in and year out.

That is not going to happen. Ballard has more talent in Louisville, however just aren't going to ever get across that hump with Jackson at the reigns. They advanced far last year in playoffs, because they had an easy road.

This young man was the best all around football player in all of 6A last year. WKU would be a step down for this young man, IMO.

I don't believe ChiefSmoke would be there if he didn't think he could win. The facilities are top notch, and he will use them to his benefit.

So the KHSAA document sent to all coaches is wrong? It clearly states that no helmet is to be used not only in June, but from the last spring practice which includes May for most school. I am not saying that schools have not been doing their own 7 on 7s with helmets, however it has been outside of the allowed rule .

Here is a side by side comparison from rules from the past year and the proposed rules. The wording is the exact same. "from the last day of spring practice to June 24 no football equipment can be used (including helmet)" So like I said the rule hasn't changed.

They have not been allowed to wear helmets in June this past year. This is not a new rule, I think it was passed 2 years ago when they gave the month of June to basketball.

It was not legal for any team to wear helmets from last spring practice until July 10th. So either there is some confusion or a lot of schools have been cheating.

You are correct, Manual has a coach that is all about preparing young men for life and him. His staff have done a great job getting young men into college and being successful citizens down the road.

Last time I checked the Manual job is not available and it is extremely disrespectful for anyone to make a story out of this especially people from other schools. Please have a little respect for the coaches that pour their time and energy into the lives of the young men involved.

I don't think anyone had a defensive line unit like Manual, all 3 are division 1 quite possibly. 1 signed this year with WKU, one was a sophomore and one junior.

2 of the 3 are back, the nose, Sean Cleasant was only a sophomore, quite possibly the best interior lineman in the state. They lost some great players though. They will be replacing their defensive coordinator and his staff, he took the head coaching job at Waggener. Look for young guys to step up and keep the Crimson on the move!

Davis committed to UK on Monday as a preferred Walk-on. Davis is a great player and an even better person. I wish him nothing but the best at the University of Kentucky, it is where he really wanted to end up, so I am glad it worked out for him.
