I did read your question I think it is unfair to the athletes at St X for you to insinuate, that IF they lose Friday their coach would lose his job, or be any more on the hot seat.

I am not a St X fan but I agree with you. Comments like these do not help any of the student athletes who are putting in the work. This year has been ridiculous with all of the firings in mid season. For the sake of the students let's put these things to rest.

Wow, their JV team is actually not very good. A few talented players, but not a quality JV team due to their total numbers in the program. St. X must be horrible.

Manual's Defense is extremely talented, good size, good speed, fly to the ball, and well coached. After 4 weeks it appears they are the number 1 ranked scoring defense and all classes. St X seems to have a very good defense as well, however both teams struggle offensively.

Guess my prediction for this game was more want then possible. I had Campbellsville by 2 or 3 touchdowns.

St Xavier defense is way too good to give up 21 to Central. 31-7 St X

I guess that answers that. I find it hard to believe he just stepped down on his own, but from what I have heard with people involved with the program that this is the best thing that could have happened for those young men.

I think Shawnee High School and Iroquois High School have been a pleasant surprise. I know that they are not anywhere near competing in the top half of their class, however good to see these young men experiencing success!

Scott County has definitely been on a roll but they are not as good as last year, however Bryan Station doesn't play defense enough to slow them down.

So who are the big 3 in Louisville, because last I checked the Super District is 4 teams and Simon Kenton is not on that level.

How many games outside of NKY have you watched this year? There is no way Simon Kenton is within two touchdowns of Male, Trinity or Manual. Scott County, possibly but couldn't beat. St. X would be a game.

Not a peep from anyone, except a parent of one of the players that I work with. He said they addressed the team on Monday. Just was hoping another coach was not fired in mid season.

Does anyone know if Nate Jones was in fact fired or resigned following their loss Friday night? I have heard that Gary Weiter, the former head coach and current AD, has taken over until the end of the year. Like I said I have no idea if this is true, right now it is just hear say but from a pretty reliable source.

The problem in Dragon Land is coaching. Engstrand is a nice guy but when it comes to running a program, he is in way over his head. I stand by my Campbellsville by 17 comment.

I would say Manual is better and with a better resume than the other 6A super district teams. They handled Bowling Green in scrimmage in Bowling Green, shutting them out. They beat #2 Central 41-7. They beat a much improved Fern Creek team despite losing Nero. Then everyone says "what are they going to do without Nero" and they simply come out and beat PRP 43-0, a team Scott County beat 55-27. They have the #1 scoring defense in all classes. They have beat Male 4 years in a row. HOWEVER, I do feel they will have to defeat Trinity and St Xavier to garner respect as the top school.
