You are correct, we all know the officials screwed up, they owned their mistake and apologized and moved on. Murray's coaching staff, of whom I know none of them, have only made excuses for why they didn't win and have put all the blame on the officials, from what the press is saying. I am speaking to the entire situation, not "just getting a sideline penalty". Clearly it is a extreme annoyance of mine when adults don't model ownership, I see the negative effects of this on a daily basis, so that clearly plays a roll in the lenses I see this issue through.

Fire, demote or discipline yes. A coach should never put an official in a position to impact the game, it is uncalled for, he is an adult and should lead by example, at the very least the score would have been tied and Murray would have been kicking off from the 25, giving great field position to Desales. Once again own your mistakes, you clearly are the product of this same thinking, lets find someone else to blame when I screw up. The officials are owning their mistake, but Murray coaching staff is not according to the news.

Since we are talking about responsibility, the coach from Murray would not be on my staff next year, or disciplined at the very least (not saying that he isn't being disciplined currently because I don't know). This situation never occurs if the coaches are following the expectations and the rules. Our society is quickly becoming reactionary instead of preventive. It is unfortunate that the officials blew this call and they are being dealt with. Murray's Coach should not be using this as an excuse, own the sideline issues, make corrections, and move on, that will teach his players a valuable life lesson more than anything else that can be done at this time. IMO

Haha this guy. Coach Lucas and his staff take 1/4 of the players of St. X and Trinity and have created a program that is competitive and could have beaten both of these teams this year had one or two things gone differently. All of this without their best offensive threat. Sounds like terrible coaching. There aren't many staffs in the state of Kentucky that could offer what they do.

Manual and Male can pull from anywhere in the county, however Manual can only pull from anyone in the county, that does not have discipline referrals, scores distinguished on state tests, and 3.5 or higher gpa (on Average). Hence the reason Manual struggles to field a freshman team every year, 21 freshman this year. Now the ones they do get in, they can play, depth has been and always will be an issue with Manual. This is the 1 and only advantage Trinity and St. X have over Manual, quality depth. IMO

Harmon from McCracken gets no respect from me, and I don't say that about too many fellow coaches. Not a great offensive mind, easy to game plan against, but beyond that one of the most arrogant and disrespectful coaches, and for what reason?

I would love to see Coach Wright get this win, he is a great coach and even better man. I just don't think they have enough firepower against North Oldham. I pick N. Oldham, but pulling for Fairdale!

Ty'ron Horton DE from duPont Manual High School, is one of the most absolute dominate defensive lineman to come out of the state of Kentucky. He is currently verbally committed to WKU, however has several larger schools expected to offer within a couple of weeks. Great kid who came out of nowhere to dominate the Super District this year, was unanimous first Team All-District.

You are correct with which coach Wakefield is. I would not be surprised if Wakefield did what is accused of him, and not surprised about Beatty.

You obviously have not coach against Beatty, he is like this always to other coaches and officials.

The game was as expected, a defensive struggle. Manual could not overcome the 4 turnovers and St Xavier scored there only touchdown off of a Manual interception that the defensive back fumbled trying to make a play. Both defenses seemed to have a great game plan. Manual had 258 total yards 4 turnovers, St. Xavier had 189 yards on 54 plays with 2 turnovers.

I don't think Manual could beat anyone like they played in the first half against St. X, Eastern, or McCracken. They most find a way to start better offensively and the defense has to protect in tough situations or they will not enjoy the outcome.

Gameday it is!!! In the first meeting Manual imploded and had several starters out of the game. Tonight several are back for the Crimson. In the first meeting St. Xavier played a solid all around game and Manual played their worst game of the year. I am going with Manual in this game, I think Manual will come ready to play so they don't have to carry this monkey on their back all through the off season. Manual's offense is finding itself and Manual's Defense will shut down Houk. 21-14 Crimson! Best of luck to both teams and hopeful for an injury free game.

I do not have any knowledge of the coaching staff outside of this one game watching on old goat radio, however personal fouls were definitely an issue all year it seemed, based on fan comments. Also, McCracken County's offensive coordinator is the one and only coach I have ever heard do the following: It is said that he told a manual assistant coach before the game that Manual had 2 "crappy" defensive lineman and that he lost some sleep early in the week but had manuals defense figured out by Monday and slept like a baby. What coach does that pregame? That says a lot about this character. Keep in mind this same defensive lineman had 4 sacks and pressure all night. And said OC's offense had a total of about 40 yards in second half.

Manual has great players but very limited depth at all positions due to their inability to get football players into the school, this is the reason the JV team is always average at best. Depth is a huge issue when playing top notch programs week in and week out. Satisfied with 2nd round losses, absolutely not, but average no way. Put them on the other side of the bracket and they play for state title. However, they have to do better with the hand they are dealt. I just hate to see people bashing coaches on here who pour their heart and soul into our youth. Sometimes fans lose perspective of the high school sports, and it's frustrating.

This is dealt with solely on the state level with the football commissioner and the committee. No coach has say over what team plays in what district. The only say any team has is to file a request to play up class levels for travel considerations.

I agree that Manual has to get past the 2nd rounds, it's not like they are losing to average teams here though. They have lost to Trinity each year, who was simply the better team. Manual is hard pressed to compete with these teams because of numbers. Manual hopes to suit a freshman team of 20-25 players each year, because that is all that they can get in due to academic restrictions. While X, T, and H each have 50+ freshman. But to be considered a legit threat they will have to beat these teams in November, bottom line we agree there! But fifth best team in the state is not average, just saying.

You say so much here that isn't true that I don't even know where to begin, but let's start with the 2 things that bother me the most with what you say. "He places too much emphasis on the doctorate of education" First, 61% of all graduate degrees in the fielderly of education are earned online. Second, the reason he prefers to be called Dr. Instead of Coach is because the emphasis on academics with his own children as well as the student athletes at Manual. He overcame great hardships to earn his doctorate and who are you to decide whether or not it is important to him. Second you say that he is the reason that Trinity is in the other district next year. Seriously, you are out of your mind and don't understand the process and procedures when it comes to placement within districts for teams.

So by average football team, you are talking about a team that has finished it the top 5 in 6A 4 out of the last 5 years? I think there are several schools in this state that would like to be average, by those standards. The issues that came about with Trinity had nothing to do with Lucas, it was between the AD at Manual and Beatty at Trinity.

Why are you such a Lucas hater? You comment more on him than about actual football, he go out with you wife or what?
