This will be the year where the road block will be taken down at Freedom field and the Birds will get to head south for Applebees Park. Got a great group of players this year. These guys are fundamentally sound and now are improving their speed, strength, and agility. Some of the players have slimmed down and look stronger. Others have grown into their big frames. Speed.... well lets just say that the Coach Baioni specialty will be working well this year....

Did Covcath miss any shots...

Been to plenty of Bengal games in the past and have seen them honoring local state champs from ohio and Kentucky. This year only heard that LaSalle made the game Monday night. Why wasn't the birds present?

Birds are struggling. Last few games I been to, I see ball control issues, not many drives toward the basket, lack rebounding, so pretty much need work in all phases of the game. Harris is a player but gets in foul trouble because he is making up for the talent that is lacking. The basketball program is still a few years away from being really good. Listerman is laying good foundation and better days are coming.

Great effort by the birds last night. They will be a contender as soon as they get into the flow of the season.

Wow this is something else... How can this thread now include the band? Of all Highlands threads ever on this sight, bringing in the band adds a whole new dynamic to this.

What a great game. The birds battled in the 2nd half. This was pure determination and heart amongst the players. That's Highlands Football.

Good start. Need the defense to go 3 and out.

Running the ball up the middle is not going to help to win this game. Need to pass and get the ball out in space to the receivers. Spread the offense out.

Absolutely. Urlage needs to play safety to help out with the passing defense. Let Kendall play RB. Beau needs to just take this game over.

I think it was against Rockcastle in either 02 or 03 in the semi finals.

HHS needs to hit the QB every time Owensboro runs the option. The OLB is playing both QB and RB. The OLB needs to bury the QB every time. DBs need to step up on the RBs. Force Owensboro to throw the ball. I know they are killing us HHS in the passing game but dropped balls will slow this game down to help HHS get back into this. Got to get Bradley Greene some help. He is only a sophomore but this kid will be a stud at DB the next two years.

I hope he does it during halftime. Not sure if Shelby Jones can make the adjustments needed to win this game.

Owensboro is picking on Bradley Greene hard.

Weinrich knows how to stop this style of offense ran by Owensboro. I guess he has left it up to the DC this week.

Don't count them out yet....

Will be plenty of tickets available... If the crowd was lacking last week it will be weaker this week.

Just heard that this game is kicking off at 6 pm Friday....

I teased Frisk about that last night saying that run might be better than ones you made.. He said he needs to do multiple runs like that if he wants to be compared to me... He also brought up that he could throw the ball right and left handed too.

You might see that same Silverado at MSJ during practice next season...

Pretty bad when their coach was hyping this game up when he took the job.

Loss is a loss but when you look at the level of competition Highlands shouldn't lose any ground.

Sorry that us Highlands fans take pride in our program. I know it just burns you haters up.

Might be a different game if Covcath stays alive. Without Abner who going to deliver that "statement maker hit". Covcath might be the only one since the competition is so weak around the state. You do make a point. I was just disappointed in the defense play calling last night. No adjustments were made.

Can't remember what game it was but there was a player wearing neon green socks. Uniform discipline is another big part of a successful program. Can't let the prisoners run the prison. It all starts at the top.
