I think they will because of the quality of teams they lost to but more so the fact that they got so much history to show they deserve to be #1. However, OHS' only loss was to Bowling Green in a game that they led most of the way. In the end, it only matters who's #1 in December, but I'd like to see OHS ranked #1 again. It's been way too long!

They got beat by a Elder team that knocked off the number 1 team in the country. I'd say Highlands stays number 1

Of course they are still #1 in 4A until someone actually knocks them off that's in the same class. We can't name one team in 4A that would've won the games that they lost. We can't discount their losses and we can't discount Owensboro loss to BG. If you're into style points and point differential I guess you can argue. But I would vote for the team that had a bulky schedule. Because the teams they see in the postseason are not at that level

IMO, Highlands and Owensboro are pretty much even. I could see the game going either way.

Not sure, could see Oboro getting number 1 votes given that HHS has two losses. Enough to move ahead of Highlands? It could happen.

I agree that OHS would have lost against Columbus and Elder but would highlands have a better record against owensboro's schedule? I doubt it. Remember, this is highlands 2014 not the lorenzen,guidil, or towlesi teams. This highlands team is not the defending champs and may be getting votes based off their past success.

I'm aware of that but isn't that the way it always works. We are reluctant to drop a team that is traditionally the best just as much as we are reluctant to rank a team with sudden success.

Bowling Green and the FL school Highlands played are both ranked around 220 according to MaxPreps. Elder is ranked around 166. One of Highlands losses is better then Owensboro's lone loss. Not both. Plus Owensboro was never down 20+ points against BG. Highlands has a great tradition but THIS YEAR they don't have a better resume then Owensboro IMO.

I was against their outright declaration of being #1 over Owensboro until this game with Elder...after hanging with Elder, I give them the clear #1 vote IMO. Owensboro is solid and will have a shot against them, but it appears Highlands is at least for now, the #1.

The only way they could is if they would beat BG, a tall order. Now if you would have asked if they would have the same record, IMHO, yes.
