We'll there wasn't a running clock vs the 2013 Owensboro team vs BG. The 2014 team is much better at Owensboro and has a great offensive line in 2014. I haven't seen a team that could stop Owensboro's offense this year. I doubt Highlands D can, as they haven't stopped a good team yet. Owensboro has a very good QB this year as well.

 

Sounds like a potential match up could be like the Bryan Station game last night.

I was looking for a signature win for Owensboro, the only team that would fall into that category is a 2 point win against a 6-3 Warren Central team. While OHS played BG tough, it can not be a signature win because obviously they didn't win. Just sayin!

 

And maybe BG had a game agaist O like they had last night! Is there a chance BG just didn't play well against O? They must not have played well last night...so it can happen right? So we are hanging out hats on that game and maybe it was more about BG not playing well.

And where does all this they were down X at one point have anything to do with how good hhs is??? They play the entire game and hhs conditioning is part of their strategy against bigger and stronger teams. They just ran out of time against CC and the late kickoff return hurt them. Same against elder last night. They have to use a formula to play against and compete against those kind of schools and part of that is conditioning and that when size gets tired, speed makes things happen. Those two games are perfect examples and if just s few things go their way in the course of the game, those outcomes could have been much different. The fact they got down so much has nothing to do with how good they are. The final scores do.

 

Someone keeps saying "never in doubt" (like that means something). But I'll ask you this. We're you at both games?? And if you ask those opposing coaches if they were ever worried late (meaning casting some doubt), what do you think their answer would be??? In both games, there are one to two events that kept those games from having a much different ending. You play the entire game for a reason.

Although Highlands was down big to Columbus, I think they made a game of it if I recall (within 3-7 points late I think). My "never in doubt" referenced the elder game.

 

Down 35-7, 35-21, 42-21,42-28, 49-28 and 49-35. Down 14-28 points says never in doubt to me. No shame in losing convincingly to Elder.

Loss is a loss but when you look at the level of competition Highlands shouldn't lose any ground.

They also would not have been within 21. Blackman was nowhere near 2013 Moeller.

I know they'll leave highlands #1 but I think OHS has a legitimate argument for the top spot.

Hopefully, everyone remembers that all of this can and will be decided on the field. State rankings mean nothing - N O T H I N G ! ! ! !

Highlands has now lost a few key players making them much more vulnerable in November. It sucks.
