FBCoachDYF Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 There are no words for this....I'm. still. speechless. Wow.
tdyballgame Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 One thing I noticed and someone mentioned in another thread was that the lineman that continued down the field with him blocking along the way. 4 of the first 5 guys in the end zone were his lineman. That speaks volumes there. After that run, the rest of the night when Beau would run, you thought to yourself, here he goes again. That was a very special run by a very special player. As Beau goes, Highlands goes! Period!
mcpapa Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 That may be the worst display of "tackling" I've ever seen.
AvidTiger Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 This was number one on sports center top 10 I just watched it and immediately came here to see of there was a thread.
ggclfan Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 That may be the worst display of "tackling" I've ever seen. I have watched the tape numerous times (and I saw it live) Papa. The tackling may not have been great but I really do think it was more a great run than just poor tackling. The moves he made were incredible and he made a lot of them... Watching it live was even more impressive than on the tape too...
mexitucky Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 I asked this to Highlands guys earlier, is Hoge the most important offensive player since Frisk? He has shouldered a big burden for a lot of the year and excelled at it. His improvisation and skill h kept a ton of plays alive that would otherwise have died. I think of JLo but a Sophomore Gino could have thrived with all of those weapons. I think of Gino, but he didn't have to make so many plays out of nothing. I think of Towles, and think maybe his JR year when he had to run so much. I still think that that team was a little better overall offensively. Just wondering what the people who know most about it think.
Guest LSPM89 Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 That may be the worst display of "tackling" I've ever seen. The way he moves backwards away from tacklers is amazing, he makes alot of defenders look bad. Another big play in the game he looked dead in the water for a sack and 12 yard lose. Some how he juked his way away from three defenders and found WR for first down, it was a huge play in the game. He is not perfect though, he had int and unforced fumble that help keep CCH in the game. Needs to learn not to do too much on some plays.

Hellbird Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 This was number one on sports center top 10 I just watched it and immediately came here to see of there was a thread. Great run, but if it was on SC, we all know why.
ggclfan Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 It is hard to compare him with different players from different years. I did say earlier this year that I think he is the most valuable player in the state this year. Not saying the best (although he may be) but most valuable to his team. I seriously doubt HHS is still playing if not for him.
ggclfan Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 Great run, but if it was on SC, we all know why. Hellbird = wet blanket:)!!!! No doubt his "lineage" helped a little - won't argue with you on that one...
MEANGREENMACHINE Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 Great run for a QB! Nice cuts and he sustained his effort down the field. Yes, bad tackling and poor contain, which allowed the run in the first place...but still a great run for a QB! I don't know many Qbs that could run like that.
Henry521 Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 That run was incredible. Certainly the number one play on my list and I have seen plenty over the last couple decades.:ylsuper:

I think it was a phenominal run and should be one of ch 19's plays of the week. I've been touting Hoge even before the season started, so am a huge fan. We just all know how it made it to SC and no other plays have from here.
