Could Paducah move up to 4A? So many classic playoff games vs Hoptown in the past years could be entertaining again.

True I get what you're saying I still believe the new school could win a 6A title with the right mind set. 6A football in WKY is very weak in my opinion. Should get a chance to play either one of the elite 3 every year. 100% positive the 1982 County team would give this year ST. X team all they wanted and more.

ST. X and Trinity were winning championships in the 60's, 70's and the 80's and Male even was the No.1 team in the nation at one point in the time.

Wow.. What a game. Here’s my observations on the game. didn't realize #3 for belfry was that good. He single hardly won the game and might had the best single game history n 3A finial history. Paducah played well on offense ran and pass the ball effectively just didn’t have the ball much. Belfry had all kinds of trouble covering # 5 and #10. Paducah could have ran the hitch and stop routes all day on the outside. Think one of Belfry TD drives had to over 20 plays and took over 9 mins off the clock. When Belfry got into the bone toss was coming everyone knew it but still couldn’t stop it. Didn’t see any holding calls the entire game against Belfry for a running team this season is highly unusual. Saw more holding calls this season than ever before. Last thing Paducah’s RB will be a problem the next 3 years. Tuff nut he is.

I'm taking Paducah by a touchdown. This is a good Belfry team but not a great one as we have seen in years past. Paducah has enough size upfront to load up the box, shoot the gaps, clog up the middle and run down Belfry's backs. Offensively Paducah's speed will generate enough points to win this game. 28-21.

If Paducah can hang close till the 4th quarter they might have a shot winning this game with their depth. I thought last weeks game change with Union when Paducah started running the ball more effective in the 2nd half. It open up the playaction passing game and their RPO's. CAL has a really good receiver Paducah needs to keep him in check. Looks like their offense revolves around him. Hoping Paducah can put some heat on the QB and make him go to someone else to beat them.

Great game to watch. Look like several times Union was about to put the game away driving the ball down the field with two touchdown lead then Paducah’s defense would force a turnover. Definitely keep them in the game. Paducah jam the box made it hard for Union to run the ball even when they had a comfortable lead. 23 for Union played a great game look like the best player on the field until Paducah's #10 took over the 4th quarter. Around the 8 min mark in the 4th Union looked gas. Most of Union star players play both sides and I think this time it caught up to them. Hats off to Union they have had a great run the last couple of years. Like to see Paducah make a run they have the players and numbers to do so!!

Think Mayfield wins this by a couple of scores but I like what I see out of this Murray team. It's impressive how they run the option. I've seen inside veer, outside veer, midline, mix in a dive to keep you honest and rocket toss counter is sort of their big play. Murray's QB will pull it past the line of scrimmage haven't seen this since the 80's when triple option was the thing. Specially impressive for a QB who's a Senior running the option for the first time. Mayfield ran a 40 front the first game be interesting to see if they go to a odd look this week.

Trigg’s QB got injured n the First quarter who’s also the punter made it nearly impossible to keep it competitive. Good luck to Paducah next week against Union. Should be a good one.

Christian County 2011- 10-2, 2012- 9-3, 2015- 8-4, 2016 9-3 and 2017 10-1. Colonels were pretty good in some of these years maybe the second best team in 5A behind Bowling Green. Just could not get pass them. Hoptown's 2001 team was the best team as far as should have won a state tittle. I disagree with most folks I believe with the right coach the new school should be able to compete with Male and the Trinity's of the world. Christian won it twice in 4A when there was only 4 classes. Harder to win it then then it is now. Still the only school outside Louisville to win it twice in Kentucky's highest class.

Hoptown usually starts out slow on offense and gets better as the season goes. Thought it might be different this season but maybe not. Close game Tigers defense gives them a shot but Mayfield wins by a couple of scores.

Would not be surprise they stay in 5A the first year like Mercer did. Going take 2 years for the school to be finished. They might merge athletes into teams next season thus keeping them at 5A for a season.

Folks you guys are sleeping on Russellville. This isn’t the same team you’ve seen the last 3/4 years. They have 4/5A talent skill kids with size and speed to burn. Not very deep upfront but what they got is good size with decent feet. If they can stay healthy upfront this team can make a run deep in the playoffs. Easily top 5 1A team this season.

Best game in WKY this week. Ballard will match Hoptown athletes which don’t happen often in regular season. Good measuring stick for both teams. I like the tigers in this one believe this is one of their special teams they have had in some time. Key to the tigers don’t turn the ball over and set Ballard up on a short field. Be a fun game to watch!!

Christian could possible win 5 games from this schedule. Lovelace was defiantly a defense guy first and always played really good teams out of district. I recall one year they started 9 freshmen and played Fulton Tennessee state champs and Hillsboro 6A runners up. They really haven't had a decent passing game since Colby Langi graduated who passed for over 9,000 yards and a receiver like Catlett who's top 10 all time KY receiving yards.

Christian won it twice when it was much harder with only 4 classes. I agree total different ball game than 4 and 5A but they should dominate WKY and will play either one or the big 3 Louisville schools year in an year out. At some point they should be able to win a title or two.

Most folks will agree with you. Trinity currently is the team who’s level is above everyone else. Nether-less I believe it can be done. Skill wise they could compete right now besides Trinity this year. They really had a special team even for their standards. Upfront is where there’s a big gap for both county and Hoptown. Both schools don’t get the big country kids they use to. Their either into hunting/working or have join FFA. It’s pretty big here. If the new school (if it happens) can get 8-12 hard nose kids with grit who don’t mind putting their hands on the ground I think they could compete with the Louisville big boys. Just for conversation I like the name of Edward Casey high school. Think that’s a cool name.

Disagree. Football: Hoptown has been to the state championship three times winning two. Late 90’s early 2000’s were an elite team. Gave Boyle county all they wanted and could have easily won couple of those games. Still playing good football here recently. Christian County has been to the state championship 4 times wining two. They are the only school outside Louisville to win the title in the biggest classification more than once (4A at that time). Not long ago they were one of the elites n WKY. Basketball: Both Hoptown and County have won state championships and have made multiple appearances in the state title games. Baseball: County has won a state championship and had a run where they were one of the better teams n the state. Wrestling: Great history here. Both programs have won state championships and many individual championships. Christian is still one of the elites in the state and should keep getting better. Softball: Christian is one of the better programs in state history with multiple state championships.
