Paducah Tilghman Legend Allan Cox Has Passed Away

Former Tilghman Coach Allen Cox passed away on Sunday after battling his health for quite some time. 

He is still brought up in conversations around here often as he was almost mythical. The things he done away from the football field in his life were phenomenal.  

He ended up coaching 21 seasons at Tilghman, his last 11 as the head coach, when he led the Tornado to 5 State Championship games and won it all in 1985 all while playing an incredible schedule at the time. 

Condolonces to his family as they lost one of the good ones.

The first head coach my Colonels ever faced in a state championship game. I've heard nothing but compliments about him over the years. I was saddened to hear about his stroke a couple of years ago, and definitely sad to read this news.

I saw his farewell speech to the players when he resigned. It was very emotional. He loved Tilghman and the program. His main goal  was to move players on to the next level. He succeeded in doing that on many levels.
