  1. Trigg County Cam Jordan committed to the Naval Academy. Has offers from Army and Air-force. 2018 stats 1,508 passing yards and 933 rushing yards accounted for 27 TD’s
  2. In WKY Madisonville should be a handful. Upfront they have more men than any team in this part of the state. Franklin Simpson is still too dog until someone knocks them off. Madisonville had them on the ropes in the playoffs just couldn’t close the game. Hopkinsville will have a say with with a top flight QB and a D1 receiver who just got offered by Purdue. Madisonville has their number shutting them out the last 2 times they played but with a healthy QB should be more of a challenge. Hoptown defense has played well against them. My WKY 4A top 5 1. Madisonville 2 Franklin S 3. Hoptown 4. Warren East 5. Logan County
  3. Thought this would be fun here's my top 7 RB's I've seen since 1980 in WKY 1. Mark Higgs- Easy pick for me no question about it. Barry Sanders highlights. Also had the best NFL career than the rest. 2. Al Baker- Herschel Walker comes to mind. Was n California vocation awhile back and a man ask have you seen this guy play. It was Al Baker on front of the cover of a national magazine. Dude was 6'0 260 pounds and ran the 100 under 11 seconds. Never forget trigg was playing Christian County during their hey day it 4th and 35 around the 50 yard line and Trigg runs toss sweep Baker runs over the entire team and scores. 3. Henry Allen Fort Campbell- Deion Sanders of WKY. If you never saw this guy you really missed out. This cat was the fast back I've ever seen in person. 4. Artouse Pinner- Walter Payton. Tuff, fast and had unique balance. Just bounced off folks. Never saw a time where 1 guy took him down. Was one of the leaders in rushing in the SEC his senior year and played for the Lions. 5. Joey Casey Paducah- Casey was the only back where a offense could line in a spread 2 by 2 set and run toss sweep for big plays. He was that good. Really is tragic this guy had D1 body and ability. 6. Derick Thomas Paducah- People forget about this guy. This was one tuff back. Started as a true freshmen for Arkansas. 7. Emanuel Taylor Hopkinsville- Hoptown all time leading rusher in 2 years. 6'1 210 pounds with sprinter speed. Only played 2 years of organize football. Really could write a book about this guy. Just going say this guy was deaf in one ear and they had to put red shoes strings on his right foot. Got down hill in a hurray and would punish anyone who got in his way.
  4. Little side note on Jay Bland and Wr Jesse they are playing on a 7on 7 team called BAGOS made up from players from Christian, Trigg, Logan, Murray and Fulton county. They participated couple of weeks ago in Atlanta in the biggest 7 on 7 tournament in the south with over 50 teams across the country sponsored by Battle. Anyways this team from WKY went 4-1 beating team from Texas, Michigan, Louisiana And beat an All Star team from Atlanta that was national ranked. BAGOS was the talk of the tournament for a bit how they came out of nowhere and were competing with teams that have been established for years on this circuit.
  5. Wow!! This would have doom the cards if that shot went in. Why have two players under their basket on the inbounce pass?
  6. 1984 When Christian County won the 4A state title and became the first team to win 2 4A titles outside Louisville. Still true today which is now 6A.
  7. That’s a good point Dever’s TB lead the league in rushing that year after Tebow left he never rushed for over 500 yards again n a season..
  8. Seem to be the better team until the 2 min mark. Just went cold and a bad turnover seal the deal. Pleased how the cards are playing.
  9. Will VJ ever get strong/finish around the rim?
  10. No way should that have been called. Been on the other sideline 100% positive it would not have been called.
  11. Probably so but man he was successful and could get those Florida recruits. Would be an interesting hire. Lane Kiffin would be my hire, could get the Florida kids and national name recognition.
  12. Implying that only way Owensboro can win if it's a low scoring game. Can the Red Devils score 3/4 TD's on them? Probably not unless special teams makes a play or a turnover in their own territory. They do have a couple of burners who can score from far out.
  13. Going be a good game to watch. Owensboro has a chance to win this game if they can hold SW to under 25. You're not going to score a lot against SW unless you can dominate the LOS and that is not going to happen here. What makes SW defense different than any 5A school in WKY is they don't have to put 7/8 in the box to stop the run and can drop 6 or more into coverage. Their skill kids are good but not exceptional talented but knows their roles. If Owensboro can find a way to run the ball effectively while in the spread they could put some points on the board.
  14. Saw them play Logan last Thursday on a rainy evening. They played man to man and bought the house on ever snap. Logan only scored 28 and probably had a dozen tackles behind the line of scrimmage. They got some good looking kids. Don’t know if they can score on Murray though.
  15. Going go with Graves. Whenever a game is a toss up I’ll go with who played the tuffer schedule and Graves played some good teams. They played well for a quarter against Mayfield gave McCracken some trouble and beat Christian on the road. Not sure Grayson could have done that.
  16. Not your typical 1st round match up with both of these teams. BG will face a defense that has been playing really well of late. Sort of lost in the suffle this season is the play of LB’er Antonio Abren. He has been outstanding this season highlighted by 98 yards scoup and score against Madisonville. I believe he’s County’s best LB’er since Tony McCombs who played in the NFL. 6’3 210lbs who runs a 4.6 forty with a 40 inch vertical this guy is more college ready than the 3 who are playing for Purdue (Major starts corner as a redshirt freshen). Hoping Christian can keep it close till the 4th quarter than see if they can get some friendly bounces.
  17. I get the new rule just don’t see how you can really make that block with your arms extended when the defender is running full speed with some size on him. To me there’s a greater chance of breaking your wrist or arms. You almost have to let the defender run you over in that situation.
