I think Hoptown still is loaded.. According to everyone close to the program Jalen would not have been the starting QB. The new coaches are high on their Sophomore QB and were planning to name him the starter and move Johnson to receiver. Would that have happen I don't know but they don't seem to upset and very upbeat.

Either 2005 or 2006 Hoptown went 7-4 lost by 7 to county in the 2nd round rhe year county went to the state finials. That was a good Hoptown team lead by Vitcor molden..

Don't think he's going anywhere but from all the report he might start at WR instead of QB.. Sophomore is going be real good..

Saying some like seeing getting players hurt is a silly comment.. Don't like anyone who plays football to get hurt. Been around football for over 45 years never knew or saw anyone who would hope or like seeing a player get's hurt.

New rule states the receiver has to have a chance to become a runner before hitting him.

If the play is at point of attack I disagree with you. I think it's the defender responsibility to have his head on a swivel.

Here's another new rule that's concerning. If a receiver is catching a pass a defender can not hit the receiver or try to break up the pass unless he's going for the ball. Another words a receiver is defenseless until he makes the catch and has time to become a runner. Even if the receiver touches the ball you can't hit him until he has time to become a runner.

Went to a rules convention this weekend and one of the points of emphasis this year is to call a personal foul on crack blocks. I like seeing players put n motion and cracking a DE or LB'er to get the edge. Even more exciting is setting up the wall n punt returns and having that player peel back and lawimg the wood on the contain player. The new rule emphasizes the blocker has to lead with both hands first then he can add his shoulder. My question to you.. I understand the safety concerns of ear holing a player not involved in a play such as a interception return but to me taking away the crack block might be going to far. Also i worry about getting players wrist broke if you do try to crack and lead with your hands .

Tiger you're cracking me up with the trophy wife stuff.. I've lived through that before "high maintaince". Now back to your topic. Coach Preston nailed it. Fundamentals and a sound plan. Your system has to match your personel and the kids have to believe in it. My favorite offense is the old fashion I with a good quick game and big play with play action pass. If you got a good tailback and a hard nose fullback running down hill is very effective. Almost all NFL teams will at some point line up in a I and try to bang up some yards. Also having a TE who can block and be threat to go downfield then your really talking some good stuff. Finding a true TE is the hardest position to find. I'm not talking about running a drag route but being a deep threat and making the reliable over the middle catch. Now if your running the I your going to see 7/8 in the box and you have to be happy with 3 yard and cloud of dust. Also your going to have to deal with injuries with your linemen by playing smash mouth so you better have some depth and with today's precaution with head injuries I believe this is why smash mouth football is not as popular as it once was.. By spreading folks out you can still be physical just don't have to block 7/8 in the box. Anyways I love seeing teams using 2 TE's and running downhill just hard to get those types of players now a days in high school.

He's earn the right to be considered, but for him to win I think Christian would have to go undefeated which is a hard task but possible.. Vito is hands down the best football player I've seen as a Freshmen. It was neat to see the size difference in him from the second game of the season to the playoffs looked 10 pounds bigger.. Cory Trice has five offerers now including Purdue.. Louisville has shown a big interest. I'll put his highlights on here in a couple of weeks it's pretty impressive.
