You are correct. It was a great game, but the refs are part of the game. It is what it is! No poor sportsmanship, just BGP members stating their opinions.

Officiating is not a "Thankless Job"! I have a job and I don't always receive "Thank you's" They receive a paycheck, so they need to do the job right or stay at a level where they can!

Walter I have known you to be a die hard fan so I understand your denial of how the officiating went in the 4th quarter. Sitting by Cov Cath fans that were cheering for Holmes and were shocked and verbally acknowledging that the refs completely changed the game in the favor of Holmes. Afterwards talked with a couple of other people from other schools that had the same feeling. As for the blatant shoe grabbing no call, that was a cheap move and should have been called. But what can you do? Play on. I still take Cooper as the best defensive team in 9th, and a team with class win or lose with no excuses.

I was going to fire a long response to this post, but after contemplating over the "talent" comment, I decided your knowledge of what player talent is doesn't even deserve a response. A majority of the 9th region coaches; if not all, would laugh at that statement.

OK, maybe you need to watch the game again. The 3 pointers were not really contested and if you play off McNeil and Collins the way SH did last night, they'll usually burn you up. It was simply poor open shot shooting from the outside. Now we all may have a different opinion on what contested shots are, but from my years of being around the basketball game, I'd say they were open shots that were missed. Many shots were just coming off the front of the rim, which could be a result of the spacious open backdrop that they're not used to. I dunno :idunno:

No prediction here. Thanks to a couple of arrogant CCH fans, I will for once root for the Ryle Raiders. After watching Ryle in the final district game against Cooper, I believe they have enough to get the job done. GO Raiders!

Call Lou sub par if you like, but he did have a basket or two and key rebounds to help seal this game. I was just proud of him for not folding after that monster block that landed him flat on his back.

True..it got a little out of hand. Good thing was no one was injured. Physical basketball can be fun at times, builds a little character in a team.

Ive watched several male teams play this year and I have to say a ladies Boone vs Ryle game would definitely be more exciting than some men's games i've seen!!

He was grabbing jerseys as he was being knocked down and pulled down by defenders trying to be physical with him. Being on the losing side, I can see how you would complain, but people at the game saw the real story. Physical game with questionable officials. Sorry for your loss.

It was a good game to watch, but I was a little disappointed in the officials. Colonels shot 20+ free throws and missed maybe one or two. Jaguars shot about 14 free throws and made maybe 5 of them if that many. Game was won at the line by Cov Cath. Both teams have some pretty skilled players and look forward to watching them play as they grow.

ELIGIBILITY: Anyone who is a freshman or younger in class, and has not turned 16 years of age before August 1, 2012 (born after August 1, 1996). 16 years old and still a freshman? What's the world coming too?

Greg along with his staff is top notch. I didn't see them doing as well as they have this year either, but that staff knows hot to coach and prepare even the semi talented kids.

I think Alec already plays stronger than most freshmen in the area. He's on pace to be one of the best and will get even better I'm sure.

Thank you Titan! Holmes is just as safe as CCH if you ask me, I've never had one problem from the Holmes fans since I've attended games. That's the second off the wall comment by TOG poking at the Cooper program, so it easy to ignore. It's the mommies at CCH that we're concerned about :laugh:: I was not able to attend the game at Holmes; not out of fear, but sick kid. Word is that it was a good one, and I'm hope the fans that did attend thinks so as well.

Wow...what a cheap shot! I really didn't want to respond to such a comment, but statements like this make me proud to be part of the public school system. It's not the size of the student population, it's the quality of the selection. Kids attend NCC for several reasons including to be a part of the traditionally winning football and basketball teams. Kids attend Cooper because it's the school in their restricted district, and many just can't afford the other option. The first game was a very good measure for Cooper against NCC and in a second game I would take Cooper as the probable winner being that Sheldon did not play anywhere near the way he's playing now and the other two starters are into season now. Now back to the topic........As for the Holmes game, it will be very exciting because Sullivan would have it no other way. I believe the team that has the least turnovers will get the win.

I agree with you Sixer. Everyone's talking speed speed speed. This isn't track or football where you're racing for the finish line or crossing the goal line. You can be as fast as you want to be, but you still have to get to the basket and score the ball over the bigs. Running around the court showing your speed won't get the job done. Cooper plays very tough defense and that will be a challenge for Holmes no matter how SUPERFAST they are. IMO...Cooper playing their "A" game gets the win here.

St Henry played well as a team. Some nice shooters and guys that finished around the basket. Even with Cooper having a rough night, their depth is too much for most 9th region teams that don't have a strong bench. Quote of the night was Sullivan yelling to one of his players "I want your heart to beat.....be the man!". Gotta love a coach with that intensity.

I never knew you had to score a bunch of points to win a game, I always thought you just had to score more than the other team. Duh where have I been........
